The �linguistics� lesson was well done, but I couldn�t help wondering if I was being patronized throughout it. Hmmm� I still wonder. You�ll be interested to know that I�ve decided that everything I need to know I learned from Schoolhouse Rock c. 1980. In addition, I also learned that �Three is a Magic Number�, �The Shot Heard �Round the World was the start of the Revolution�, and to this day, I can�t recite the Preamble to the US Constitution without singing the song in my head. So to you, oh professor of English, I say �thanks but no thanks�. Now if you�ll excuse me, I have to attend to the Energy Bill sitting here on Capitol Hill.
