After the wave of personal outrage against this woman for not chosing to go through with the c-section, I really started to think about the situation. I don't know if it right for the gov't to sue her. True, what she did is disgusting and shows total disregard for the welfare of her children, but should the gov't try her for not having the procedure? And if so, what would be the difference if the child were born or not. Say the twin who lived now needed a liver transplant and the mother is the only relative with a compatably liver. Should the gov't sue her again if she doesn't give the child her liver and the child dies? Or what if it wasn't her child but her father. Should the State sue for this?!? I don't think it should. To drop a hackneyed cliche, it's a slippery slop and not a path ANY gov't, be it local, State, or Federal should be on.
