Subject: Re-Read your article now, after work

Jung, I re-read your article, now that I'm home from work. It still makes me sad. It makes me sad because I agree that there are some problems with society, but their origins are more complicated and so much more deeply historically rooted than just in the '60s or any particular movement.

It makes me sad because, according to the article, the only "results" of the women's movement are negative, immoral and bad. As a woman who is living more freely than women 100, or even 50 years ago could scarcely imagine, I appreciate the results of the women's movement.

My life is better because of it. ESPECIALLY my life as a single adult woman. Can you even imagine what my life would be like 100 years ago? I can, how does this strike you: stuck in a small, rural area of Wisconsin, probably not educated past grammar school, at least not formally, and my only prospect is to work in one of two socially acceptable jobs, or take care of my siblings. Of course I live with my parents until I get married (when my real life starts, whenever that may be) and then, working is not an option, only housewifing and family-raising.

Do you see how far we as a gender have come? Do you understand why, even though there are some boundary issues like the inappropriate clothes example, having the choice is so important?!
