Author: "The Sentinel" Gabriel Blade
Subject: Time to get Back on the Horse

(Scene opens with a shot of "The Sentinel" Gabriel Blade. Blade, who is dressed to wrestle and has the OWF title around his waist, still has a large bandage covering the stitches stretching across his forehead. A closer examination would reveal a score of other partially healed injuries left over from the brutal finals of the Iron Man tournament. Blade stands in front of a gray backdrop baring the UWS logo and stares ahead into the camera. The passion and determination still burn in his eyes, but there is something new there as well. So small you probably don't even see it, so quick that you'd doubt your eyes if you did, but it's there. A flicker, a misstep, a waiver in that formerly unblinking stare. It comes and goes so quickly it would take the sharpest of eyes to catch it, but it was there.)

Camera Man- With the epic UWS Iron Man pay per view and the latest addition of Blackened, much has happened since last we spoke with 'the Sentinel' Gabriel Blade. Sentinel, some time has passed since our last conversation, a number of major events have taken place, but first thing's first. It may not have been the gold you were hoping for, but you do have gold around your waist, and congratulations are in order for the new OWF champion.

Gabe- Since the opening of the UWS the OWF title has gotten off to a rocky start. It is a championship that has been mired by disputed finishes, multiple title changes, and injuries. But now all that is going to change. The OWF title has found a home around my waist, and that is where it is going to stay. There will be no more vacated titles or screwy finishes to title matches. I'm a fighting champion, I will face all comers, and I will bring Honor and meaning back to this belt by seeing to it that is stays right where it is. I don't yet know who the first challenger I shall face is, but whomever it may be, he can rest assured that he's in for the fight of his life if he wants to take this title away from me.

Camera Man- I'm sure you will do justice to the prestigious title, but it's not the title you thought you'd have a few weeks ago, is it? You had your eyes set on double gold in the form of the Unified Championship and the title of Iron Man, but that was not to be. Now, with the interference of Curtis Slamm in the main event, and the way Lee Todd advanced to get into the finals, you have a legitimate beef with...

Gabe- Stop right there, I don't want any part of it. There will be no whining, no crying, no excuses. I fought the Battle of my life at the Iron Man, I fought with all that I am, I brought everything I have to that ring... and I lost. Lee Todd brought everything he had to that ring, and he won. That's all there is to it. I don't want to hear anymore talk about how what happened happened. All that matters is it did.

Camera Man- Be that as it may, you can't be pleased with some of your fellow superstars. With the way the UK Crew helped Lee along, Sin's attack on former Unified champ Kurt Tremere and your tag team partner Michael Burke, and Slamm's intrusion into your match, there must be a lot on your mind right now.

Gabe- There were many crimes committed at the Iron Man, and the men who committed them will have to pay for them. Their actions will have consequence that they will have to face. And men like Curtis Slamm have no heard the last of the Sentinel. Just as it will for everyone else, his Judgement Day will Come...

Camera Man- But those aren't the only men you'll have to deal with. Soon you will have to face again a pair of men you've become intimately familiar with inside the ring over the past few months as you taken on Brian Thorn and Lee F'n' Todd in a triangle match on Blackened.

Gabe- I've wrestled Thorn and Todd so many times it's almost as if I can hear their thoughts. But with men like them, with competitors on the level they are, even those who know them the best know to expect anything. Brian Thorn may not be perfect, and Lee Todd may lose wrestling matches, but their claims aren't far from the truth. There's no greater competition anywhere in the world than in the UWS, and a match like this one proves it. I've got a battle ahead of me, and I'll be ready for it.

Camera Man- And in addition to being two of the finest wrestlers out there, the two men you face have the distinction of being two of the men with which you have the most history. With all that's happened between you there are sure to still be issues simmering that will come to the surface when you three lock horns.

Gabe- To say that there's history among us is a bit of an understatement. In complete honesty, I don't like Brian Thorn, and I'm sure he doesn't like me. I've been looking to teach him a lesson for quite some time now. Maybe Blackened will finally be that time, but I doubt it. Whatever happens he's sure to go on blissfully believing in his own superiority and perfection. But maybe if I beat him in the middle of the ring and pin him 1, 2, 3, it will finally put a dent into his egomaniacal mind. I certainly intend to try. As for Lee Todd, Lee F'n' Todd... There's more history there than I can go into. Lee holds all the cards. He's the Iron Man champion, he's the LWA champion, he's one of the tag team champions, and he's the Unified champion. Lee Todd is on top of the wrestling world, and when you're on top of the wrestling world, everyone's looking to knock you off.

Camera Man- A victory over Lee in this triangle match would go a long way towards that, and towards guaranteeing you a shot at any one of the many titles Lee holds.

Gabe- Sooner or later someone is going to dethrone Lee Todd. I would love nothing more than to be the one to do it. But Lee Todd has earned each of those belts he carries, and he has plenty of time to defend them. This match is not about titles, no championships are on the line. This is a match about wrestling, plain and simple. Whatever history there may be behind it, once that bell rings, it's all about who's the better wrestler inside of that ring. What comes in the future will come, and it will be dealt with when it gets here.

Camera Man- Speaking of arrivals, the closing moments of the Iron Man pay per view saw the shocking announcement of an arrival on its way to the UWS.

(Blade's whole demeanor changes. It is as if a cloud rolls over his face, his features become unflinching and serious, and darkness fills his eyes.)

Gabe- Daemon Krav... There are no names in this business more infamous. Krav has done so much in his career, caused so much destruction, brought so much chaos. Daemon Krav may just be the evilest man walking the Earth. His crimes are so numerous and so atrocious they cannot be counted. He has avoided his fate and skirted his Judgement Day for a long, long time. If he is truly to return to the UWS, he will be able to skirt it no more. Daemon Krav is a villain of the highest order. Nothing but pain follows him. If he walks amongst us, it will be time for someone to stop him once and for all.

Camera Man- With so much facing you and so many different ways you could turn, are you worried that you may be biting off more than you can chew?

Gabe- A Warrior faces all Battles that come his way, and a Warrior avoids no enemy. However many men I must fight, I will fight them. However many wars I must wage, I will wage them. Whatever fate awaits me, I not only can handle it, I embrace it. The fate that awaits me next is to face Brian Thorn and Lee Todd in a triangle match. I look forward to it. Come this Blackened the Battle begins anew. It is another chapter in our epic saga; a chapter that I intend to put my signature on. Judgement Day is Coming, Prepare To Be Judged.

(As the red light goes off the camera, Blade visibly deflates, almost collapsing before us. After months of toil for the Iron Man tournament he is physically and mentally absolutely exhausted, drained, with nothing left. His injuries are more serious then he lets on, and though they are on their way to mending, it's still all he can do to pull it together when he's in the ring and when the camera is rolling. It's taking absolutely everything, all that he has, and he's barely holding it together. He's lucky he walked out of Blackened with the OWF title. But as severe as the physical injury is, the mental trauma is worse. Gabriel Blade has been beaten. He has been ground into the mat, and he can barely stand any more. He still struggles to move on and to fight, but the defeat was a crushing one. He tries not to feel despair at his failure or rage at the way Lee Todd won, but the sight of Todd with all that gold is not an easy one to see. Gabe is hurting in every way imaginable, and all he wants to do is heal, sleep, and forget. But he can do none of those. Sleep is impossible with so much to do and so much weighing on his mind, healing a monstrously slow process at best when he must continue to batter himself in new battles, and forgetting is not an option when the next verse in the same story awaits him. Despite how much he may want to stop, give in, or break, he has to keep going. He has to extinguish his anger, maintain his dignity, and walk to fight again. He has to face Lee again, despite how much he fears there may be no stopping him. And he has to be prepared for the other battles that come before him. He cannot fail again, which means there can be no rest. He must push on, even if he snaps, even if he breaks, even if he collapses. He has to push on, even if it kills him.)

(Fade To Black.)
