Me & my dad ! Billy King loved to go through the woods in little crosby and he'd always call it his estate, we used to stop at the crucifix set back in the wood wall and say a prayer as he always said there's only one person that will look after you meaning god :)).
We used to go through sniggery woods and visit his friends in Little crosby we'd get some sweets from the farm shop and he'd sometimes have us walk right round the wood wall passing the little lathams cottage on the way and picking berries in the summer months, he used to take me on the crossbar of his bike to the pheasant & we'd have a shandy & a packet of crisps, my dad loved the outdoors and the wildlife & never wanted money or material goods, he loved life and my favourite poem of his will always be the following : " There are two things in life i have yet to suffer, one is richness, the other death, of one of these i am but sure, of the other perhaps i'm rich enough". I love & miss you dearly dad and travel home often to visit the village museum and the cross & to put flowers on your grave as sadly nobody else goes there, you are in my heart and my mind 24/7 and one day i hope we meet in heaven.
Love Billy King Junior
