Vegeta had sensed Frieza's power begin to spike before he even launched the blasts. So by the time he did, Vegeta was powered up again, his gold hair waving back and forth, floating in the air. Vegeta had noticed that one of the shuttles seemed to be different from the other 4. It looked more like a luxury cruiser, and he spotted Rico fly out of it, so it must be piloted by ADI troubleshooters.

Vegeta didn't even bother stopping the blasts aimed at the other 4 shuttles, he focused his attention on the task of deflecting the bolts headed towards the ADI shuttle with those of his own.
