Victor was sitting on the deck of the boat when Mardrave appeared on deck. His eyes were in a daze, staring off into nothing.
Victor was running through a land that was barren and lifeless. The ground was chared black by something that had robbed it of the energy it had once held. He tripped over something, landing on his hands and knees. He looked behind him and saw Montrose laughing. "Foolish boy! Come to me and give me your Essensce!" Victor got up and looked at the woman. Suddenly, everything fell away, the entire world becoming a haze. However, it was soon dispersed by a bright star in front of Victor, so bright it made him cover his eyes. He reached out to touch it, and when he did, Lucca appeared before him. She looked at him with a grin, and that glint in her eye that indicated she knew something you didn't, and everything would be all right in the end.
"Hey Victor. Why are you so afraid?" Victor blinked. "Afraid?" Lucca nodded. "Yeah, afraid." Victor looked at her. "We're about to fight someone who single-handedly destroyed my life. Of course I'm going to have some fear." Lucca shook her head. "You're not afraid of that. You're afraid of them." She motioned behind her. When she did, the clouds of haze completely parted, revealing a vast and grand building behind her. Suddenly, Lucca slumped forward, and Victor saw there was a large sword protruding out of her chest. But she looked up at him. "Are you afraid of this?" Behind her, a man in a red robe looked at Victor. "Join us Victor. Join Zeal. Join us. We have already dispatched of one of the Destroyers... join us!"
Victor could only scream out in pain as he saw Lucca fall to the ground, lying in a pool of blood. On the dock, Victor started screaming, but his eyes remained in their far-off gaze.
Meanwhile, Edward was below deck, feeling around with his mind. "The fog is having on adverse affect on those with strong inner fear. I must keep my mind off of it." Edward quickly followed Mardrave onto the deck, then ran into the cabin. He looked at the controls, and increased the ship's speed to maximum, now that the storm was over. The ship flew toward the coast, but it was a still a while off. Edward then sat down, and looked up at the sky.
He saw his home planet, thriving in the sea of stars. Then... they came. They came from the planet to Edward. They took hold of Edward's ship, and boarded. They bowed when they met Edward, and looked up at him. "Edward, your brother has died. We ask that you come back. Please, do not abdicate the throne again. We need you, our crown prince." Edward fell into a daze as well, fearing what might come in the future.
