I learned on a BBC programme last night that seven Irish prisoners died by suicide in Brixon Jail during the last three years.

An internal enquiry is to be held, although a leading prison inspector feels there should be a public enquiry.

This is a very sad state of affairs. I feel sorry for their relatives and friends.
