Rep. or Dem. local or federal,from city gov. to the white house 99.9% of these people are in it for themselves or for people and companies wealthy enough to put something i.e. money ,material goods , or future jobs in theu=ir pockets!! I wouldn't waste the time or gas money to go to a poling booth for anything!
In my 20's I was an Idealistic (IDIOT) liberal Dem. who thought Gov. could resolve the problems of society! In my 30's I thought the Conservative could meet my financial and moral demands(IDIOT AGAIN)In my 40's I KNOW only I can look out for My family and my interests!
Before any of you say that if I dont vote I have no right to complain I say WRONG! I pay all my taxes on time and like your money we pay the theives salaries making them answerable to us , even though it seems most of the time as though elected officials are autonomous and immune to laws we are governed by!

I can understand your apathy to the voting booth,its hard to imagine one vote making a difference, that's why it always feels we're picking between the leesor of two evils.
But, paying taxes are for services you receive - ie --police, fire, roads, defense, schools,etc..

as to immune from laws, what laws are they immune to?

Would seem these politicos are able to escape any punitive actions the majority of the time because of either connections or that they write the laws and loopholes for them

You mean, for instance- tax laws? on a different front, I saw that the one congressman in , I believe, N.Dakota just got thrown in the slammer for hit and run. That other congressman from the Chicago area served time for having intimate relations with a minor. Some are disgraced and thrown out of office- Torrecelli - he's just an arrogant, low-life prick.
