It is the norm for a candidate and his party to have a significant spike in the polls after their convention

Kerry had nothing to brag about..barely a blip. Bush can hit a home run at the NYC convetion and wrap it up.

Americans ain't buying the horrible hate and fanaticism of the Democrats corrupt idealogy. The fraud Botox boy from Boston is going down....thank goodness!

[> [> Re: Democratic National Convention -- Corrupt idealogy?, 05:54:15 08/04/04 Wed

Hmmmm....and you think the Republicans aren't corrupt? What planet are you living on? One major point to show that the Repubs only care about big interest...the gas pump. Prices keep getting higher, the oil companies are reporting record profits (the highest they have ever seen in the history of their existence) and the only trickle down we get is better Fourth of July fireworks so we can all continue to wrap ourselves in the flag. All because they have their boy in office who is willing to push their agenda at everyone elses expense.

Go ahead and keep wrapping yourself in the flag for Bush, you just better hope he is right because if he is not your future family members will paying a heavy price.

[ Edit | View ]

[> [> Re: Democratic National Convention -- yes! corrupt idealogy, 06:45:17 08/04/04 Wed

and when the gas prices went through the roof during Carter's admin? that was GOP? and when they rose several times during the Clinton Admin. ...I guess that was GOP? and why didn't Clinton do anything about it? oh sure, he wanted to tap into the reserves, typical dumb dem - appease the whiney pulic who pay about the CHEAPEST gas prices on the planet!!! ahhh, yes , the Vast Right Wing conspiracy is out to get us....what a boogie man!

are you this conspiracy minded about everything? or are you simply one of those gullible brainwashed Michael Moore drones bellowing the same mantra from over and over of the liberal far left? --- YOU need to get off that planet and GROW UP.

and one more thing...where do you see wrapping myself in the flag? this country ain't perfect, they're always gonna be holes here and there, why? because human beings are involved. I myself, woulda voted for Lieberman if he were nominated, but he had more brains and independant thinking than the Dems could stand, so they nonminated a phony balony stiff like kerry. hence, the corrupt idealogy remark

I grew up in a military family so there isn't anything you can say that will make me think that war is a good thing unless it is directly defending our freedom. My father went to war twice. Afghanistan was directly defending our freedom because it housed one of the worst terrorist in recent history who declared war on our right to be free. Where is OBL anyway? We have captured Saddam Hussein, but Bin laden and his soldiers are still out there plotting to terrorize the world.

[> [> [> [> [> [> Re: Democratic National Convention -- to add..., 20:40:36 08/04/04 Wed

Thank your father for his service for me.

to add, I'm a 24 year veteran, I know something about war, too.

the liberals all asked - where's saddam? last year...he was found. now, they ask where's obl. in due time he WILL be found. his band of crazed, fanatical lunatics (you call them soldiers?) will have to be contained, this will always be the case. I admire bush for taking tough stances and sticking to his convictions. it is part of the president's obligation to protect this country. with kerry's record and the previous administration's dismal anti-terrorism plans, I'll stick with bush.

thats not to say i like everything about bush, but studying kerry and his track record, and concluding he's not capable, no way could i even consider supporting him

First of all, I am not a conspiracy nut, I just don't like Bush, never have and never will. Besides, the Bush family connections are old news anyway. That does not a conspiracy nut make. I guess you are just a nazi weirdo who doesn't believe in free speech. So what if someone doesn't agree with the President...we have a right to philosophically (sp?) disagree. Isn't that what this country was founded on?

How would you like it if someone referred to you as a nut or a fascist because you are a Republican? The way you respond with such anger and nastiness could make someone believe you are a nut or a fascist. Instead of spewing nastiness and anger why don't you try to make your point with some intelligence and say why you think the President is right?

And then maybe I will respond in kind with why I disagree.

"I guess you are just a nazi weirdo who doesn't believe in free speech." so, we phyisophically agree and you call me a nazi weido?

The way you respond with such anger and nastiness could make someone believe you are a nut or a fascist.

hmmm...right back at you.

There is no debate with someone who is such a partisan as yourself...it's a waste of time. I have voted for both Democrats and Republicans in my lifetime, and still do to this day.

you libs...such hypocrites, your no better than the "neo-cons"

I used nazi weirdo to show you how it feels to be demonized based on your beliefs. You just don't get it. So go about your life being a name caller and we will call it a day.

You say you are a 24 year veteran yourself...did you ever fight in a war? If you did...do you have children and what did they think about that?

My father volunteered to go back to Vietnam the 2nd time so my brother wouldn't get drafted to go. Would you have done the same?

"I used nazi weirdo to show you how it feels to be demonized based on your beliefs"

Oh gee, thanks for the lesson, ya condescending elitist snob. (I just called you a condescending elitist snob... um, because you are) am I being presumptuous?

"My father volunteered to go back to Vietnam the 2nd time so my brother wouldn't get drafted to go. Would you have done the same?"

I'm a veteran of our Armed Forces. We have certain beliefs including duty, honor and service before self. Concepts which are void with much of a selfish society.
But,you should ask yourself that question. I doubt it.
am I being presumptuous?

You keep labeling me "angry". Very presumptuous and typical of the elitist left idealogy. You don't have a clue about me and yet you'll throw labels out with such unrestraint. am I being presumptuous?

"There is no debate with someone who is such a partisan as yourself...it's a waste of time. I have voted for both Democrats and Republicans in my lifetime, and still do to this day."

Oh really? You say you have voted both ways but you sound pretty partisan to me. I have voted both ways as well. A lot of people feel that since we went to war based on WMD and there weren't any that Bush was just pushing his agenda no matter what the cost. You can't send people to war based on faulty information. So now, when there are terror alerts and new intelligence information saying that attacks are eminent people are questioning the validity of those reports. They are wondering if the Bush Administration is just crying wolf. To me...that is a very dangerous thing. That is Bush's fault and he needs to correct that in the minds of the American people if he wants to get re-elected. He needs to rebuild the faith of the American people. That is all there is to it.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> Re: Democratic National Convention -- can't have it both ways, 09:15:23 08/05/04 Thu

In July 2001, Bush received memos warning of terror attacks. Now, when a warning is given, democrats whine about crying wolf! To me ..THAT IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING

There weren't ANY WMDs? That is debatable, There WERE WMDs, ask the Kurds, ask the Iranians. ask the Russians..ask the Brits ask ..etc. Have they been found? Have they been uncovered? Have they been moved or destroyed by Saddam before the invasion?

You seem to live in a Sept 10th world

Just watch the Kerry's campaign messages. Everytime Kerry says what is going to do when he is elected, the Bush Administration is comes out with a message a day or two later saying that they are going to do it.

Example: Kerry said at the convention "the first thing I will do when I get in office is implement the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Report. Two days later the Bush Administration says the are implementing the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Report.

This is just one example, there are many others.

Kerry said he voted for the recommendations before he voted against them....or was it the other way around?

Anyway, he'll implement the recommendations as soon a
Chirac OK's it, unless he doesn't, which in case he'll veto the recommendations after he approves of them.
