My teenager has indicated that they would like to receive fencing lessons for Christmas this year. We live on the southcoast of MA. Does anyone one know of classes being offered in my area?

Thanks in advance,
Merryll

Hello,
Are they interested in competition -style fencing, or the type of swordfighting they see at different faires?
If they are looking for the latter, including basic broadsword, rapier , and other fighting disciplines(hand -to hand etc.), Pastimes will be offering classes entitled "Fighting for Faires" starting in January. Both beginners and more advanced fight classes will be offered. The classes will be taught by our resident certified fight directors, Rob and Cliff. If you have seen their work at any of the Pastimes Festivals, they are masters at making even the most inexpert ,ungainly, fighters (for example,me) look great!
Anyway, classes, once the official announcement goes out, will be on a first-come, first served, basis. Location (in the Boston area) TBA.

If you would like more info, please write me.

I hope this helps

Dave

P.S. Pastimes will also be offering several seminars in interactive theater during the year. We will be have a staff meeting in a few weeks to solidify our schedule for 2003
