Hi there,

does anyone know the exact crash site for Spitfire BM575, 421 SQN RCAF. It flew into a hill called Moel Cynhordy near Maesteg on Tuesday September 29th 1942, and was piloted by an American, Sgt Norman Hugh MacKay. He flew out of Fairwood Common, Swansea with another Spitfire and became seperated from his lead in shower clouds over Port Talbot. I do have the accident report but it doesn't pinpoint the site and there are no visible scars on the hillside,

kind regards
Chrisj
