Dear Mr Earl

Can you help? I am in contact with a person in Australia who is trying to list all known Australian War Graves on his web site. He did not know about the Defiant in the Lammermuir Hills until I informed him, so now he wants any relevant information available.

I visited the grave site today (Sunday 24 May 2003) and took some photographs. Regarding the photographs I have taken, would you like me to send you a couple? I could send them to you via scanner e-mail and if you were happy with them then I could send you proper photographs by post.

Apart from a map and some photographs the only other information I have regarding this crash site is what you have written in your book "Hell on High Ground" Volume 2. May I have your permission to send a photocopy of the article you have written (page 157 of afore mention book)to the enquirer in Australia?

Four years ago I discovered the remains of Ju88A-14(3E+HM WN 144537), which crashed just outside Edinburgh on 24/25 March 1943. Although I have four extensive files on this aircraft would you have any other information regarding her?

I thank you in advance for your help in these matters and I await your reply.
