Date Posted: 10:58:46 10/31/01 Wed Greg, I always thought the scariest moment in the fly was when Brundle attacks Stathis. Very scary stuff. Chris [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 14:20:28 10/31/01 Wed For me it has always been the "STOP!" bit, when Veronica visit Seth after the phone call. Still, I must admit that as a rule, I don't like the cheap "bahhhhhh!" trick in horror movies. It seems a little bit out of place for such an intelligent movie. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 17:53:04 02/08/02 Fri I believe the most chilling thing in THE FLY is when Seth looks into the records of his first teleportation, and the picture slowly reveals to be that of a fly (enter the scary "sting" sound). Then, when he asks the computer if he absorbed the fly, and it says, "Negative. Fusion of Brundle and fly on molecular-genetic level..." oh, boy...scary stuff. And the look on his face when he realizes what's going to happen - very powerful scene. Second choice? Well, besides everyone's fave scene involving some nasty eating habits and a meddling old boyfriend (deadly combination), I love the "insect politics" scene. At the risk of sounding pretentious, I think that's such a frightening scene because it shows that Seth is descending swiftly into madness. Now I've depressed myself... Date Posted: 07:22:06 02/09/02 Sat i don't think that's the scariest moment but it is my favourite part of the entire film > I believe the most chilling thing in THE FLY is >when Seth looks into the records of his first >teleportation, and the picture slowly reveals to be >that of a fly (enter the scary "sting" sound). Oddly enough, the R1 DVD release does not have the "sting", nor the "sting" when we see Brundle's shadow on the wall when Stathis punches up the fusion program on the computer.
