| Subject: New 'Fly' sequels and fan fiction... | |

] Date Posted: 00:29:08 12/12/01 Wed I've heard many ideas for a third Fly film over that last few years and I'm sorry to say that none of them seem to be worth mentioning again (although I did enjoy the one about the brundleclones). Anyway, the concept that Geena Davis was supposedly working on for 'The Fly III' (which was actually supposed to be a true sequel to the original film and was to be called 'Flies') was about Ronnie giving birth to twins. These children would seem normal at birth and wouldn't start developing any hereditary traits until they reached puberty (acne would be the least of their problems). But then the whole idea was either canned or put on hold and the lovely Geena moved on to do bigger and better projects like her lame television series (cancelled!) and the instant classic 'Stuart Little' (not bad for the little tykes, I guess). Well... I was wondering if anyone out there could use this plot synopsis and continue with a stronger story... or at least continue after the events in THE FLY II that doesn't involve any more scientists and accidental telepod gene splicing. There was one fan fiction story that was so bad it was almost insulting (Brundle survived the gunshot wound that blew his head off and had a couple of his Bartok buddies fix him back to normal) but I was just curious to know if anyone else had any better ideas for a sequel? Want to hear my own stupid idea? Well, if you insist... Let's say that the insect Brundle had fused with was a pregnant female housefly. This would eventually lead to Seth being able to lay eggs and thus allowing him to propagate his species... a first generation of pure strain Brundlefly (buggers wouldn't hatch until right after his death since this would classify as a sequel)! ....whatever. Date Posted: 05:10:21 12/12/01 Wed Sounds good JP, why don't you write a fan-fiction story? I also read about "Flies" in an issue of "Film Review". Is this were you heard about it? It also has a cool publicity picture of Human Brundle walking Ronnie up the wall! Ill try and find it if I still have it... Chris [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
