It seems that whenever I mention THE FLY (1986 version) to people, they are two types of people: those who've never seen it, or those who have and despise it! Once, I mentioned it in to one of my friends, who promptly replied, "Oh, I saw that. That's SUCH a bad movie!" Another person said, "Ugh! I HATE that movie! It's so gross!" OF COURSE YA THOUGHT IT WAS GROSS! YOU CAME ACROSS IT ON TV DURING THE "INSECT POLITICS" SCENE, AND RIGHT AFTER THAT WAS THE EVER-SO-PLEASANT (affectionately named) "FOOT SMOOTHIE/POOR STATHIS" SCENE! These bits are NOT for beginners!
Sorry, it just hurts. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, of course, but do they have to bash one of my fave movies? Any thoughts on why people dislike THE FLY so much?
