] Date Posted: 14:27:55 10/30/01 Tue For those of you out there who have Howard Shore's wonderful score for The Fly (1986), what do you feel is the best musical cue? I love 'em all, but I'd have to say I'm partial to "The Street", "Seth Goes Through", "The Stairs", and "The Creature". Mind you, I still love 'em all equally. What about you? - Greg [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 02:28:41 10/31/01 Wed Can't choose your favorite child ;-) They're all wonderful. I guess "The Last Visit" has something special to me. It's so sad. In most of Cronenberg movies, the last scene and cue are the saddest, and usually amongst my favorite in the movie's score. The theme is great, very retro, and IMO highly influenced by... the Bernard Herrmann theme to "Cape Fear". Did you notice that? [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Did you notice that? Ever notice that the main character always dies or faces certain death in Cronenberg films? Anyway, the final part of "The Last Visit" is reused at the end of the film, which is fitting. However, I can imagine "The Street" being used for the deleted butterfly-baby epilogue, too. That's why I was a little bit surprised at the end of "Crash"... Anyway, that's just another thing that make me love Cronenberg so much. No HAPPY ENDING! ever. It's like a statement: "This is not a kitsch Hollywood movie" (of course, he's not putting it for this statement. It's just another thing I love about his movies). [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
