The Fly II should not be considered canon with Cronenberg's film. It "retcons" a number of things. Are we now to believe that GENIUS Seth Brundle really worked with the evil Anton Bartok without noticing that HE WAS EVIL? Did Saffron Henderson portray Ronnie in the first film instead of Geena Davis? Did the telepods really make those new opening/closing noises in the first film? Did Ronnie really videotape Brundle's explaination ("A fly...got into the...transmitter pod that first time when I was alone...")

According to The Fly II, the answer to all of these is "yes". BAH!!!!
