I have ceramic on top with metal ties so staining isn't really an issue. I did try rinsing with my white elastics in and the purple color did not cause stains. Those elastics are as bad as ligatures at picking up nasty colors. If you find the blue in the mint hasn't caused any stains to your ligatures I would try one of the kiddy flavors. Perhaps you could start with bubble gum or cherry since those two wouldn't look as gross if they did cause a stain. I didn't really think about it because it isn't in Colgate's best interest to make a rinse for ortho patients that stains ligatures.
