Foster turns his eyes to Luka. "That was uncalled for, Luka. You've upset your little sister. I know this whole thing is hard for you, but imagine how hard it is for her. She doesn't even understand death the way you do." The boy blushes and goes silent, staring at the Formica pattern of the table until his eyes slide out of focus. "I'm sorry Uncle Foster." Foster's eyes soften at Luka's quiet apology. "It's not me you should be apologizing to." The boy slides out of the booth to Foster and Antonia, still blushing deeply. He pats the girl's head gently. "I'm sorry, Antonia, I didn't mean it." The girl nods silently, wiping her tears on Foster's shirt. "S'okay, Luka." Foster turns towards Bailey. "i'm sorry you had to hear all that... that way. My brother and sister-in-law were vacationing in Canada, skiing... skidded right off a mountain." He frowns ever so slightly at the thought of it.
