 well,i just pitched a rouge box call in the stove.tried 2 weeks to get a good sound from it and it wouldnt co-operate.tried different paddles,changed ends for paddle attachment,trimmed,sanded,and did everything but whistle dixie,to no avail.the box had sugar maple sides,spalted pear end blocks,and a dark cedar bottom.tried walnut,cedar,osage,chestnut,crabapple,pear,and cherry paddles.no luck.i guess it just happens sometimes,dan
