Hi Dan. I'd be interested in the redbud if I could trade you some other kind of wood. I've got some spalted mimosa and some without spalt and I think I can get enough good wood out of some old magnolia to make a couple of calls. The magnolia is darker than freshly sawn and dried magnolia and seems to have some dark blue stains on it. Termites got to the stump so it takes a lot of wood to get any that's any good. Also have a little peach but haven't done anything with it. It was dead and on the ground for a couple of years so don't know if it will be usable. Also have a couple of pieces of spalted maple stashed down on the farm if it doesn't wash away. Left it on the creek bank where I was trying to cut out a drift that is damming up the creek. Left one piece of spalted hackberry there too and felt like crying when I cut the end off a big old log that is jammed up in the drift and saw it is walnut. Let me know if there is some specific kind of wood you're looking for. I might be able come up with some if its domestic.
