 I wish I could help you...I mostly build box calls and what little slate I use, I buy from http://www.pennbigbedslate.com/ They can cut almost any diameter slate you need...I have however roughed out a piece of slate on a scroll saw and then sanded it round with my belt sander but beware it will dull you saw blade and destroy you sanding pads.....My want to ask over on the http://www.customcalls.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=turkey_brd This forum has a wealth of information.
