Well :o) then I see tornados won't ever occur in Iceland - it's cold, dry and the land still keeps moving due to earthquakes and vulcano eruptions. Not so sure which would be the worst 'evil' though if you could choose...

Yep, this was "whew", but hey, no need to apologize for such an excellent explanation. Thank you! You see, I think it's so nice when people who know much about something I hardly know anything about, but would like to be able to understand but can't without help because in school I was never talented when it came to natural science, take the time and have the patience to explain complicated matters in a way so that a layperson gets the main points.
