I went back to Az for a couple weeks from 3-14 to 3-25-04. it was nice to be away from work and just get up each day not having to think about going in to work. on the other hand, i didn't know what to do wit ALL that time on my hands. but I managed. I drove about half the time away from work, cuz I couldn't affroed to fly. But then I realized I couldn't really afford to drive either cuz gas prices are so high. in Az it was $2/gal. on the average it was $1.90/gal all way cross the country.

anyway, on the way out I saw a truck that had slide downhill on I40 in the smokie mtns. it wasn't on fire or anything but it slowed down traffic. back home was nice visiting with my bro's and sis's but it was the same with my mom gone. but i guess everyone that has lost both parents knows that feeling. It was like I was just visiting.. and i guess maybe it was?? I'm still working that out through the old gray matter.

one bright spot was that I visited with my uncle whom is a medicine man in the blessing way, and he shared with me some more songs.. and told me some stories about the songs and just generally hung out for the most of two days.

So i'm wondering now if thats the way it will be from now on when i go back to visit my folks back on the rez, that is, that it will be like I'm just passing through like the wind trying to find a place to settle??

does anyone have experiences like this after their folks are gone? My bro's and sis's have always been not close knit, even though there has never really been any animosity between them or me. we just grew up seperate due to the BIAs stealing of kids from the rez and seperating them from their families while we were growing up.

Anyway, just checking in to see if anyone is out there.
