Sinatihawk:

Strange how we take our bodies for granted until it starts to rebel, huh?

Well, since you asked, I had quite an adventure last night. I went to a club I used to frequent in my "wild days" with his biological father many years ago. A reggae club downtown called the Wild Hare, but on Monday nights they feature new hip-hop artists.

My son produced the music for his first new artists - a couple of young men from the projects. They were scheduled to perform a few songs. I've been listening to it at home and I think it's really good, but I'm his mom - I wanted to see how others respond to the music.

Needless to say I stuck out like a sore thumb among the 20-somethings there. There was one other white man present who wandered in, probably to get away from the rain and the Cubs game. One group started out by yelling "Where are all my thugs?" Every man (cept whitey) raised his hand. A woman in the group said "Where are all my sista thugs?" Every woman raised her hand (cept this whitey). You should have seen that man hightail it outta there!

Oh well, still waiting for my son's group to perform. FOUR hours later, they announce "thank you for coming, good night."

I kind of like this style of music - I've always been a sucker for a good bass beat. The final group, however, was HORRIBLE. They sang 8 songs, but it sounded like just one - all I could decipher was "MFers, holla at your boi" - with the bass so loud that it crackled. It was BRUTAL - I certainly wanted to holler at him, but he wouldn't have heard me!

It turns out my son and one of the artists weren't allowed in the club because they are underage. Oops, someone forgot to check that out first. They got into a big argument with the bouncers, and the bouncers bounced them off the block. My son tried to call, but we didn't check the messages before we left.

My poor husband - I think he still has a headache, lol.

Kathy
