prayers for those lost today, and those they left behind

I can't find words to say how deeply grieved I am at the suffering and loss of life today over Texas ....

some ask why we grieve for these few, when human souls were lost all around the world this day, as any other day ....

I can only say that, as a citizen, these folks and the families depending on them, put themselves in harm's way in my name and for our sake as a country ....

and if my country, and those acting in my name, were unable to bring them home safely .... then I am complicit in their deaths, and my grief is multiplied .....

.... I can only hope this will give our representatives and our government pause, when they think of the risks they ask those in the front lines to take -- have they done alll they can, have they done enough to make sure that those folks come safely home to their loved ones ..... or at least that their lives were lost for something truly worthy of such an inestimable sacrifice .....

sorry, just needed to vent ....
