>Actually I was surprised that sunny had an album up

>pretty trusting".

I was surprised too.

And there is only one other place on the net where I have ever put up a pic - and that's only once in 13 years of internetting. But I decided what the heck, give it a try here.

I asked earlier today for my pic to be deleted.
skin was wondering about why people would do that.
I like skin, so here are some of my reasons ~ which, as I mentioned before, I imagine are different for every person. And yeah, I realize that I'm lifting quotes from bow's post, not from skin's, but they are applicable.

>I am fullblood but as I have said before, I don't have
>a problem being friends with other nations, wheather
>they be white purple or whatever. Someone said quite
>awhile back that it's the content of a mans/womans
>heart that matters, not the color of their skin.

I didn't ask my photo to be retracted due to skin color. I am quite aware of my skin color. When it was mentioned by several that not everyone here looks like was expected, I didn't run to the mirror, look in it and faint from shock. Nor did I faint from shock at anyone else's picture. The only time I ever felt the slightest surprise at an internet person's picture ~ since it does not take an Einstein to realize that you can't tell how someone looks from how they type ~ was when I saw Steve Russell's picture. Given that he has a legal mind and is so observant and all, I about fell off my chair when I saw that he was publicly using a picture with his writings (which is where I first saw the picture) where his hair was messy. I had a moment of sheer jaw-dropping astonishment: "Good God, can't that man braid his hair?" And then I got over it and moved on.
To truly understand this, it helps to know that I have a major jones for men with long hair. I also have a major jones for men who are neat freaks. Somehow the combination of long messy hair sent me into some sort of a fit. But anyway....

I was not astonished to find, after going back and viewing the picture of myself that I had posted, that I had light skin. Amazingly, I looked pretty much like I had remembered myself, if not even slightly better. However, and now I will be serious (though I was actually serious about Steve's hair, and was furious when he thought the issue with his picture was his weight or looks ~ ridiculous man)~ the fact of the matter is that I take a lot of crap in daily life for my looks. I get tired of it. After posting the pic here and then seeing that some people ~ and they know who they are ~ were jeering at people about their looks, I got ticked off. Also, in all my vast internet experience ~ and before some bozo makes a remark about people who have no life, I will state that 1) I'm a writer, and am on the net a lot for research, and 2) was in a car wreck that left me not able to get out much for a few years ~ thank god THAT'S over, plus 3) I actually met my best buddy over the net, so every second was worth it just to find him ~ in all that experience, I have found over and over that folks are usually sorry for posting their pictures. It goes like this..... someone liked you and wants to e-mail you, and then they see your picture and suddenly you're not an interesting person anymore. Or like this: someone has been rude and stupid, and then they see your picture and suddenly you get a nice e-mail from them saying how they have always admired you.

Did I think that would happen here? No.
Did it happen here? No.
If more people are going to look in here, will it happen? Yes.

So I wanted my picture yanked. Not about skin color, but about other people's attitudes. On other boards, I don't give my name ever, I use a name that's not identifiable as one gender or another, I refuse to answer any questions about age or income or profession. Why? Because if someone likes the way my mind works, none of those things matter to them.

After the ignorant way that some of the pictures here were reacted to, and with the possibility that more folks may be cruising by to check out this board, I've decided my usual way of operating was the right one.

And that's why this person asked to have their pic removed.

Now I'm going back to the indianz board and posting some more damn recipes. :-P After a bad-mood invoking post like this one, I like to go somewhere and do something useful.
