well i can't speak fer ew7 john, but in dineh, usually the family takes care of the child or children. by that i mean the grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. there are certain lessons of society that each sector of the extended family is responsible for.

like: uncles tease the boys about sex, which is what is their responsibility, to teach about the opposite sex. siblings tease about the bad cgaracteristics of each other, which is their responsibility and so on.

in the long run, people of the family teach each other about the outside society(tribal mores) without even mentioning the outside society.
