Thanks Bella and all.

Here's my tentative decision.

Starting today, I am going to proceed as if she is going to be treated, which means I have to measure her water intake. This will also tell what confining her to one water dish in a four dog house does to her morale.

Meantime, I am going to read up on Cushing's and check on everything the vet told me, just like I was deciding my own care.

Then I am going to write a narrative of my understandings of the options, gleaned from the vet and independent study of the situation and send it to the vet for corrections if she has any.

Then I will make the final decision based upon odds of harm from treatment (which I understand now to be very low) and odds of diminution of life quality (which I understand now to be negligible). If that is the case, almost no risk and no diminished quality of life, I am going to take out a car loan to buy myself about three more months with Copper Rain. If that is not the case, I am going to let her go naturally.

Steve
