Didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up. Given our police force, the level of activism here, and my neighborhood, I'm sure this info will come in handy for me. Probably very soon, since folks here are really upset about the possibility of a war with Iraq. There have been many large demonstrations, I'm sure none of them have made the national news. Funny how that happens, eh? There is one group of folks that have taken to walking around town dressed in those Grim Reaper robes, and carrying full-size coffins spray-painted with the names of the countries we are threatening. Kind of makes you stop and think.

It got people really taking a hard look at the WTO, and for that I am grateful. We actually ended up with people hospitalized from the police brutality here, and the city was so damn mad about how the local cops and natioanl guard had run amok on the citizens (read that as my neighborhood - they did not bother the wealthier neighborhoods at all) that the police chief had to resign and it cost the mayor his re-election. I'd like to say that things changed when they brought in a new police chief from out of state, but the local cops are so entrenched in their bully mentality that their response to the new chief has been a unionized vote of no confidence.

Well, I could go on, but I've rambled enough here.... just feeling anxious because of the war situation and local police environment and where I live in this city -- when it gets ugly, I am right at ground zero. So again, thanks for the heads up on the rubber bullets thing.
