Subject: Chapter 51: "She Ain't Worth Missing. (We Should Be Kissing)"

It's funny how easily things can get misinterpreted. If truth is the first casualty of war, it's because often the truth is unbelievable for peoples (Human, Zeojin, etc.) that live life by letting the bad times exist so that the good times are even better. The truth is that four percent is a larger gap than you'd think when you factor in individual personalities. To use excerpts from some research I did, well...

"When Libra and Scorpio come together, it can be a fulfilling and stimulating relationship both mentally and emotionally. Libra's balancing energy can counteract Scorpio's brooding disposition. If the pair can fuse Libra's exceptional interpersonal skills with Scorpio's determination and drive, they can reach amazing new heights together. Scorpio has more focus than Libra, and Libra can get the ball rolling in the direction both partners want. Libra and Scorpio are steadfast in their loyalty to one another.

This can be a very goal-oriented relationship. It tends to be both highly emotional and intellectual, thus making the bond multifaceted and deep. Scorpio tends to be more patient, but is also more controlling than Libra. But despite their differences, both partners love risk and taking chances; this is not a boring relationship! Libra and Scorpio can have lots of fun together, and both can be quite charming. At times they have difficulty understanding each other, because Libra is up front and open, while Scorpio is more mysterious. Both partners need to get together occasionally and decide on some common rules and boundaries.

Libra is ruled by the Planet Venus and Scorpio is dually ruled by the Planets Mars and Pluto. Libra's ability to articulate and love for beauty and romance balance the strife that can arise from the secretive and emotionally obtuse Scorpio. Mars represents passion, so Scorpio's energy fuels an active and exciting time together. Neither will want to argue; Libra doesn't enjoy conflict and Scorpio will seek secret revenge. It will usually be Libra who calls a truce and comes up with the solutions. Pluto adds an intense edge to this dynamic.

Libra is an Air Sign and Scorpio is a Water Sign. These two elements can be a great combination if they work together, using willpower and intellect to get things done. Scorpio is a strategist, and can help Libra slow down and learn how to test the water before diving into it. Libra teaches Scorpio to relax and cut their losses when their efforts are thwarted. However, Scorpio can be emotionally manipulative, too much Water watering down Libra's enthusiasm. Conversely, too much Air can hurl a riptide into the Water and drive Scorpio mad. Libra and Scorpio must plan and work together, rather than coming up with their own agendas to maintain the great sense of balance between them

Libra is a Cardinal Sign and Scorpio is a Fixed Sign. Libra brings a new idea to the relationship and Scorpio maintains it. Both require extreme focus and devotion in a relationship. Scorpio can lead Libra toward stabilizing and finishing things rather than jumping into new projects without completing the old ones. Both are loyal and devoted to each other, and when they can understand, they can enjoy a satisfying relationship -- Libra providing the reasoning and brain power, and Scorpio as the passionate, emotional force.

The best aspect of the Libra-Scorpio relationship is the power they find in unity. They can accomplish a lot, whether they come together for a cause in the business or romantic sphere. They are both winners and they won't give up, making theirs a relationship that takes care of business."

"When Scorpio and Pisces come together they enjoy a splendid union. The two Signs share the same Element, Water, and thus have a good understanding of each other. Scorpio is very deep and covert, often caught up in their own secret plans, while Pisces is idealistic and looks for the nuances of a situation. However, Pisces also has a tendency to withdraw into their own mind, and can forgive Scorpio for being mysterious or withdrawn at times.

Both Signs are intuitive and in touch with the subtleties of human interaction. Scorpio can help Pisces fulfill dreams and ambitions -- to turn ideas into reality. The Scorpion will provide a steadfast foundation for the relationship to revolve around, and the more ephemeral and intuitive Fish will become entangled in Scorpio's web. In return, Pisces offers gentleness, kindness, and sympathy which Scorpio admires and appreciates. Scorpio is interested in certain material comforts and intense emotional dramas, and at times cannot understand the simplistic, charitable attitude of Pisces. Their long-term aspirations can be completely unalike. Once they can understand and overcome this difference, theirs will be a very rewarding relationship.

Scorpio follows the Planets Mars and Pluto, and Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune. Mars is the ancient God of War, and Scorpio is testimony to its aggressive, courageous, daring, and sometime belligerent influences. When combined with Pluto, this hot Planet becomes cyclical and symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. Scorpio is able to withstand a great deal of abuse and bounce back, but the Scorpion is also able to dish out this energy in spades! Pisces is also ruled by Jupiter. This represents philosophy, expansion and excesses. The Neptunian influence gives Pisces a dreamy aura and a love for popular culture and media. This dreamy energy softens Scorpio's hard edges. The nature of this planetary combination offers a complementary relationship, drenched in emotional intrigue and endowed with a real celestial bond. However, Scorpio must be careful not to cramp the floating Fish, as Pisces will suffocate under too many demands.

Scorpio and Pisces are both Water Signs. Generally they're very compatible, as Water is a tangible, physical entity and both appreciate this property. Pisces is born to connect mankind, and when they come together with Scorpio's intrigue and tenacity there is no stronger bond. In addition, Scorpio has an absolutist view of life; everything is either golden or tarnished. Pisces can help to open up multiple possibilities, rather than a single focus. Scorpio may tire of Pisces' instability, and Pisces may in turn feel that Scorpio is self-absorbed and insensitive to their needs. It will be comparatively easy for them to find a compromise.

Scorpio is a Fixed Sign and Pisces is a Mutable Sign. Scorpio tends to be focused on one project at a time, but Pisces likes to move from project to project as the feeling takes them. Pisces can easily become a part of Scorpio's pastimes and projects. In turn, Scorpio needs to give Pisces the freedom to enjoy personal interests. Pisces can show Scorpio that flexibility is sometimes better than a stringent determination, and that compromise without struggle can pay off. Scorpio and Pisces feed off of each other's energy well, and should be compatible in romance or business.

The best aspect of the Scorpio-Pisces relationship is their similar emotional natures. They complement and harmonize with one another very well. The overall empathy and commitment these two signs value in a relationship is what will keep the ties strong and long lasting between the Scorpion and Fish."

"At first all will be peaches and cream, or rather peaches and dynamite, for this volatile couple. Female Libra enjoys the company of intriguing individuals, and will view male Scorpio's intense emotional attachment as grand ammunition for reloading the clip of their own ego. But in the end Scorpio will be infuriated by Libra's inability to make any sort of commitment -- not to mention the concomitant flirtation of the Scales.

Scorpio's jealousy will come out full force, and attempt to impose emotional lockdown on the fly-by-night Libran romantic streak. This attempt at control is doomed to failure. No one can keep an eye on another person twenty-four hours a day, and Libra's need to escape any stifling situation is just biding its time before another successful jailbreak."

"These two swimmers in the seas of raw emotion are tailor-made for each other's desires. Female Pisces needs a strong shoulder upon which to lean, and male Scorpio needs a lover that needs them back even more -- both get their wish granted in this relationship. Scorpio injects energy into the dreaminess of the Fishes to promote some drastic forward steps in creativity and output.

Depths of feeling are made manifest on the nuptial couch, where the endless inventiveness of the fantasizing Fishes will serve to add a new and previously unforeseen dimension to the Scorpion's rampant appetites in this direction. Mutual devotion cements a love affair for the ages -- these two will bask beneath each other's warm and knowing gaze forever"

I'm the Scorpio/Tiger. The only thing Libra-Star and Pisces-Jessica have in common is that they're both Rabbits...

"The male Tiger and the female Rabbit share a sense of adventure, but the Tiger is willing to go several shades beyond where the Rabbit would prefer to stop and acquire a sense of perspective. Both of these Signs would benefit from a steady love partner, but neither will prove to be what the other desperately needs. Without a personal anchor, the Tiger is lost.

The question will be whether the Rabbit is able to provide him with a home life enticing enough to counterbalance the joys of roaming about. If she can do this, the Tiger will not mind the constraints on his freedom, and instead will devote his not inconsiderable charms towards the perpetuation of a happy home life, which is the cornerstone of success for this ambivalent couple."

With Star there was a fifty-nine percent compatability, it's funny how Jessica's birthday being seven months and six days earlier changes things, with her I have a sixty-three percent compatability. It's not my fault that I have no control over what the Ellimist does, not that I'm complaining. I've always been gung-ho about anything I'm interested in, writing, decorating the school's hall as a jungle (Pissed the fire marshal off something awful, the vines and trees I'd worked up were so tangled up. I say that means I did a good job.), singing, fighting, cooking, being in love... When I get an assignment or choose to do something, I charge into it full power. Which leads to conflict when others don't put forth the same effort. But that doesn't keep me from being relaxed once everything gets past the preperation stage and into the action stage. Unfortunately, few people have the same method as I do, so I've gotten to the point of prefering to work alone. When I met Star I had THOUGHT that I had found not only my Imzadi, but someone who had a similar attitude. Again, unfortunately, while close to mine, her attitude was that you had to be the best. I tried to make it work, I mean, I could almost have bought a Transformers: Universe Unicron or five G.I. Joe two-packs with the amount I spent on presents for her. Selfish, I know how it sounds, but let's face it, I've developed, or rather, had developed a bit of a me-first-THEN-everyone-else outlook on life from having to look out for myself. How many other eleven year olds can you think of who've threatened thieves with a .25 and a .38? But I digress...

I'm sorry, do you expect me to be happy when ten months of relationship cools and shatters? When I'm snapped at simply for realizing what's being said and reacting? Am I bashing you, Ms. Nave, for being happy that a certain blue-auraed-old-pain-in-the-posterior-who-has-his-uses finally did something right in bringing from another reality and my mind one whom has a similar attitude, outlook, and interests?

Not in my opinion, and to me only two people's opinions really matter: My own and my Imzadi's. Well, Kay fits in there under the "If I'm being anything, he'll tell me. If I don't want to be told, he'll STILL tell me." catagory, but still... And you, Ms. Nave, fall under neither catagory. I thank the Mightiest that you've chosen to remain in Maryland and not fight along side the rest of us for two reasons: the first is that you do not have the soul of a warrior, even if you DO try. The second is that it no longer is part of my job discription to protect you from any enemies, yourself, or anything, and I shant.

After all, I tried. I gave it my all, and I was still trying until the moment you let go. And this is bashing you? This is being against you? No, no, not AGAINST you, but for the first time in almost a year, FOR me. My memory's just brought up something that shows me the truth. I was willing to accept the fact that you believed in letting your abilites choose your path and even though it clashed with my beliefs, I supported you. But in exchange, it was your intent, as you stated often, to change me and my beliefs.

The truth? The truth is that it was a fool's notion, that it was forcing destiny. The truth is that you can't accept the truth. The truth is that I heal quickly in both body and soul, even quicker now between the Change and Jessica. The truth is simply thus: You ain't worth missing.

"Bit pissed?" That wonderful mix of Australian and Southwestern U.S. accents came from over my shoulder.

"Nope, majorly pissed." I grinned.

"Well, I'll need to mark your puns off the list of reasons I love you, Major Magnus, because that was horrible." Jessica leaned forward and rested her arms against the back of my chair.

"What's the point of always making good puns, Sargeant Parker?" I asked, turning my head to kiss her.

"Fewer teammates wanting to hang you by your belt from the flag pole, for one." She leaned closer.

"And girlfriends?" I asked, then captured her lips with my own before she could respond.

How much time passed, a minute, a millenium, I don't know. I just know that we were interrupted by Kay coming out of the spare bedroom that was used as a workshop.

"You two are at it again?! Why don't you just make it offical and legal already?"

I smirked at him, the smirk of one who is about to aid a comment in coming back to bite the speaker on the ass, "I checked, a few things make it impossible. All the IDs Jessica has isn't part of this reality, so there goes part of it since each of us would have to show two forms of ID, and her parents are in a different reality, so there goes parental consent, meaning that's at least two years of waiting."

"Actually..."

Uh oh... I thought, Jessica's up to something besides five foot six...

"After you showed me the requirements, I asked the Ellimist for a little help..."

Same as last thought, only more feeling of foreboding.

"What did you do, and how bad is the damage going to be?"

"Your bachlorship one day." She replied, pulling out several things from a pocket, "Learner's Permit, Birth Certificate, Passport, everything a girl needs to make it look like she's from this reality..."

At the slightly feral predatory gleam in her eye, I almost gulped, process of elimination left that remaining piece of paper's odds of being one thing at close to ninety-six percent, give or take...

"AND, written consent from parents."

Kay blinked twice and stared, "I was just kidding, you two..."

Jessica smiled at my Cobra-in-target-sights look, "Don't WORRY, J.T., I'm not proposing... I'm gonna let YOU do that."

I stood and turned to face her, putting my hands on her shoulders, "Don't get me wrong, that is part of my future plans for us... But not today, maybe not for a while. Not with this war going on."

Kay blanched, "That's it, I'm getting out of here before all this sap makes me invert myself..."

And with that, he spun on his heels and stomped back into the workshop.

"What now?"

I stepped over and got my van keys off the hook, "I have some extra cash and 'The Last Samurai' is playing at the Carmike."

"Well, what are you waiting for, let's go!"

I loved that about her, that she is probably one of the few girls in existance who can get as geared up about a movie about battles and honor as any guy...

I still do.
