She troted though the woods thnking quietly about "wolf stuff" She hardly noticed the world around her, and she definatly didn't notice when a large bird flew into the trees above her.
He gently soared into the woods and landed on a tree hardly maknig any noise, only letting a small shower of pine needles alert the wolf of his presence.
She yelped in surprise as several wet sticky needles dropped on her from above. She shook her body wildly to get them off, then sniffed the air to see what had "sabotaged" her. She looked up in surprise as her nose caught the scent of an unknown animal. "Who are you?" she called warily.
He stared down at her. He was cautious, for what if she was simply a stinky evil, and only wanted to eat him? He did not tell her any more than "I am light! May you know that. Tell me... did I fly into a evil teritory? If so I will be gone"
"Have no fear, Glacier Forest is light, and if you are the same you will always be welcome here, now wil you tell me what you are?" She asked "I promise not to eat you!" She added as an after thought.
He considered hr words, but he trusted that she would not try to trick him. He flew out of the tree, and soared around a few times before landing near her and lookng her in the eye.
She gasped at the shear bueaty of the bird as he soared through he air with ease. He was black with white tips on his wings. His head had two white streaks going back from his eyes. His eyes gleamed with intelligence, and firey determination.
He stared in turn at the majestic wolf. She looked at him with those pure icy eyes, her black coat shined as the rain rolled off of it. Her white ears and white tipped tail would have looked ridiculus on anyone else, but on her they looked magical and stricking. He realized she was waiting for him to anwser her question. "I am an ice eagle, and one of the last of my kind. I can see that you are an honorable wolfess, and so you have gained my respect Lady of these woods" He bowed to her
She looked at him and studied him closly. Finally she spoke "You too have gained my respect Lord of the skys. Technically Kona, my alphess, is the lady of the woods, but you could say I am the second lady, for I am Beta of Glacier Forest, this pack."
He thought for a moment he already liked his wolf, and he had no family left. "I would ask you a favor M'lady then..." and he told her of how he had no family
She sensed what he was going to say next, and said it for him "...So you would like to become my companion. Well I was going to ask of you almost the same thing M'lord. You see, I long to feel the wind rush by me, but I never can, for I am chained to the ground. I would ask of you to be my wings."
He smiled and said that he would be his Lady's wings if she would be his huntress, for he had trouble hunting many things that walked on the earth, and perhaps she could catch them for him.
She consented and then said "Now it is time for introductions M'lord. I am known as Soar High, and you...?"
He bowed again "and I Lady Soar High? I am known as Ictaer by my kind. It means in our tounge, as much as you have said: Lord of the skys, and though I love your name, you will most often be known to me as Kasdree, for that is what you are to me: Lady of the forest."
She bowed her head to him agreeing to her name, "come" she said "you may follow me, I will present you to Lady Kona."
He took off to follow her from the air and screamed to the wind his joy at finally finding a friend, and a lady.
