Since I first posted this question, I have read quite a lot and watched some of CC's movies. I found out that when he was making the movie "Circus", he was going through his terrible divorce, got sick to say the least,with the news media constantly hounding him, had a nervous breakdown, and his weight went down to about 118 pounds. He normally weighed about 130-135 lbs. and was 5"6'. If you view the Circus, you will indeed see how thin and tired he looks.
