Subject: Chaplin Videos

I am the proud owner of two large box sets( vide tapes) of Chaplin films.
Which I recieved as Christmas gifts. I sat down to enjoy them and found I was having a hard time following them. They just weren't having the same impact on me as I had gotten from seeing some of them in the past on tv. The problem I discovered, much to my disappointment, was the music.
Whom ever assembled these videos, used what seems to me to be Dixie land jazz. Old recordings at that. It's nice enough music, which I'm sure could be better enjoyed by itself. But in the context of these old films, just doesn't fit and is really quite distracting. At certain points you can actually hear someone speaking! (I thought these were supposed to be silent films!) Quite Irritating. Well I needed to talk about this and vent a little. Thanks for listening. This is a great web site to visit if you're a fan. I'll be back again.
