Subject: Anymore failure on car that had the recall done

I just bought a 2nd hand 2001 M3, I couldn't find out what month was manufacture. But I did call the dealer to find out the service record of that particular car, It had the recall job done to it in JAN03 which had the rod bearing replaced; as well as a new oil pump and new ECU software.

When I rev it up to 4000 a very loud metallic sound from the engine, is that normal to a M3?

Also when idling, there is a slight ticking sound, is that also normal in light of the design fault of the bearing lubrication?
