Subject: New means not reman
In reply to: M3 Lemon 's message, "Need feedback to help me with Lemon!" on 08:10:36 11/10/02 Sun

That is false advertizing to say new engine and then install a reman unit.
But if done in a NON production line manner. And Done by a good machinist/mechanic that is fully rested and not forced to spit out the production. A Properly "Rebuilt" engine would be lightyears better than anything off the production line. Especially if clearance where adheared to properly.
But in most of these flybynight engine rebuild facilities, you will see under payed over worked unskilled people doing much of the work. It takes time to check the critical dimensions properly, and sometimes that is not cost effective to production. Hmmmmm that is most likely why BMW is having all these problems to begin with. Or is it just bad engineering?
