Subject: Dealer won't perform bearing recall on 12/01 2002 M3

I'm planning to purchase a used 2002 6-speed M3 that has a prod date of 12/01. There is no recall listed under the VIN for this car and the dealer has refused to perform the connecting rod bearing repair. Were _all_ M3s between 11/01 2/02 affected by the recall? Should I be worried buying this car w/out the recall done on it?
