Subject: Where have all the cricketers gone?

A few years ago, AVCC had selection problems due to too many players.

At that time Luncarty were playing twice most weekends, Doune was thriving and Kingsway and Mayfield got teams out every week.

As well as AVCC's struggle last year (and decision to play fewer games in 2005), Luncarty went under. Now I hear the same fate is probably falling upon Doune, Kingsway and Mayfield.

That means most weekends during 2005 there will be more than 50 guys less playing cricket in this area.

Where have all the cricketers gone?
