Subject: O V C C

Just to announce to the world, the formation of a new social occasionals cricket team, Old Vesuvians Cricket Club (we used to erupt but we are a bit quieter now).

Effectively, this will be the much vaunted A V C C old boys side.

There will be no memberships, selection matrixes, captains or skill. They will aim to only play a few 20 overs, everyone bowls two overs games, each season plus a tour.

It is very much hoped that the first match can be a challenge match with AVCC in the early part of the 2005 season.

Anyone interested in playing, or touring, should get in touch with me. (we are planning tours for the next 26 years) Through liason with the McKenzie twins, we will endeavour to ensure that no games, except obviously if we can play one another, will be scheduled when AVCC have a game as a few of the players will be residual occasional AVCC players. To that end, maybe John or Andy could give me a call, once your fixtures are sorted.

I would stress that this is in no way designed to compete with AVCC pool of players, it is just for a few old friends to kerep in touch, have a laugh and keep a few old dinosaurs playing the game a little bit longer than they otherwise would.
