Subject: my daughter speaks

On Saturday my daughter, who already has a few words in her vocabulary like mum, dad, cool added a new word : duck. When she gets a new word she just won't stop saying it.

She was visiting her great gran and pointing at her budgie shouting duck over and over again, much to everyones amusement.

This was nothing compared to what was to follow though.

On way back from great grans, Tallie and Caroline stopped in to see how the cricket was going, just as I was about to bat. I got, and there have been not many times in my life this has happened, a first ball duck (a lesser batsman would have got nowhere near it!).

As I trudged back to my team mates I noticed much hilarity, more than usual when someone gets a first baller, this it transoired was because my darling daughter was shouting duck over and over again, and continued to do so throughout the innings.

I think McKenzie has been speaking to her in the baby language he speaks telling her to publicly ridicule her father!
