Just wanted to run an idea past the rest of you and wondered what your opinions were.

I was thinking of arranging a series of midweek games through out the season (probably around five or six) based along the same idea as when we played Strathearn youths. I want to do this because 1) I am in the happy position that this season we have on several occasions more than 11 players available for a game and I have had to tell some that they have not been required and 2) that the team has been doing well enough that some players have not been getting much of a bat and a bowl.

I'd like to make these games slightly seperate from our Sunday games, ie almost as a 2nd 11/ youth team and plan to make the top seven at least up from guys like Colin, Pedro, Spanks, Jordan, Pat, the two Hamiltons, Jim, Gogs, Gordon Mac, etc and to make sure the bowling is done from the above as well. Ideally someone like Spanks or Gogs would captain the team, if they so wished. I have already agreed to midweek games with Kinloch in late July and early August with Richard Bowman promising me that they will approach the game in the same fashion (they were very good like this last season) and have positive responses from the Round Table and Strathearn to stage similar fixtures.

All opinions are welcome. To clarify I'd like to run it as a second or midweek team with idependent averages, etc. This is mainly to remove the pressure of getting results so that the captain on the day could concentrate on making sure everyone would enjoy themselves, etc.
