What are they playing at?

Do they think if they name enough names, everyone will have a favourite in the squad so they won't get criticised?

When your captain is useless at one day cricket but insists on opening the batting as if he was Adam Gilchrist, you are always going to have problems.

Alex Wharf might be a Glamorgan lad but, I thought the next World Cup is in 2007, by which time Wharf will be a 32 year old journeyman instead of a 29 year old one. Gough in the squad too? Months yet until the ICC trophy.

Nonsensical reaction to the poor NatWest Series surely? Or are you in your selectors apologist role gonna try to justify this one somehow fizz?
