Cannot disagree with most you write.

Zimbabwe are poor, and therefor it should be a development series. I would therefore replace Butcher for this series - there are a number of younger candidates who deserve a chance. I may also be inclined to rest Big Ears but he would probably go in a huff. I agree with you that Flintoff must step up or get lost this summer and I have a thought that it might be the former. I liked Dawson's spirit and would have him in the squad of 12 in case it turns. I think Wallace is the tidier keeper out of him and Foster and would invest in Wallace now though it is marginal. Similarly marginal in my view is Shah or Solanki, my marginal prefernce being for Solanki as he is one English batsman whose game is suited to many overseas wickets and we should be looking to include him in Team England now so he can be part of the squad before next winter's tours (I happen to think Solnaki will be a batting star of the next World Cup). McGrath must also get a batting shout at some point. I will be watching Paul Franks early season form carefully as a shout to replace Big Ears, although Lewry would be another good pick.

My (c) would also obviously be different.
