I am far from alone on my view of Nasser.

Cricket may be a game of opinions and I accept your view and even have a degree of sympathy for it. I think Nasser has done a great job bringing England on in recent years but I really do think he (and Fletcher) have brought them as far as they are going to. I think Nas knows that too. What disappoints me is that you make judgements on Nassers leadership without seeing the games.

You say, I am too harsh on him. What have I said in this thread that is harsh or subjective as opposed to factual?

Fact - He bowled Anderson when most would have bowled Caddick. The tactic did not work.

Fact - He was barracked by fans when leaving the ground.

Fact - His column on Sunday (did you read it?) basically said they were too tired after a long winter to be able to compete with the Aussies in this game.

Fact - He scowled his way through the closing overs.

Fact - Having decided to go with Anderson, he at no time on the field showed him any encouragement in the penultimate over nor did he put an arm round him after the over. I note Derek Pringle said yesterday he fears it may do irrepairable damage to a potentially wonderul talent.

Going back further, there is the 1st Ashes Test toss, etc, again factual, again something he made a cods of, again something anyone with half a brain thought was a ludicrous decision.

On current form, it is even debateable whether he merits a place in the One Day team.

England have been poor in this World Cup (Flintoff excepted) and do not deserve to progress to the Super Sixes. If you disagree, tell me why. What great performances have they put in as ateam, not individuals?

Interesting to note that Mugabes regime have got no positive publicity out of any of the games in Zim, in fact quite the opposite. There have been no mass demonstrations or attacks. The Mugabe regime has not been brought down by England not going, in fact,in the long run may be strengthned by a World Cup success.
