Trust me, it's best for you- I don't want you to get hurt! I don't want him to....." His tone is frantic, even as he trails off. "He just wants me! Don't you get it? He won't hurt you if I just go out there! If I stay here, he'll kill you!" He stops struggling and seems to listen for something- and soon both boys can hear footsteps comign closer. Alex lets out a low whine, like a dog in distress, and with a surprising burst of strength brought on by adrinaline, jerks his arm fiercly.
