Subject: 10/8 Rock Of Jericho report

1.Starts the show at 8PM with 2 Gammy Ray songs:"Rebellion In Dreamland" & "Men On A Mission".

2.Y2J says Sunday night's here & it's time for The Rock Of Jericho: http://tinyurl.com/rssxe right here on XM 41 Da Boneyard: http://tinyurl.com/6hmt6 . He says welcome to the show & the madness as we get closer to Halloween. He says he played the 1-2 punch of Gammy Ray with Kai Hansen, who was in Helloween & says
it's not to be confused with Halloween because as it says in the "Keeper Of The 7 Keys" record, if you confuse Halloween with Helloween & Helloween with Halloween,
then you'll be turned into a savaged pumpkin. He says don't do that or even try that at home, because he don't want you turning into a pumpkin & then you wouldn't listen to his show. He also says you couldn't watch the show either because you can't watch it anyways, but says if you can't listen to the show then you can't buy all the wonderful merchandise that's available & says there's none. He says Hansen formed Gamma Ray after leaving Helloween in '89 with vocalist Ralf Scheepers, says
Ralf later split & joined Primal Fear & says Kai took over the vocal duties himself. He says that's a coincidence because Kai was also the original singer for Helloween,
then Kai had problems singing & playing at the same time, says Michael Kiske came in & says the rest is history. He says Kai worked on his singing & playing, took it
over to Gammy Ray & says those are the results. He says those 2 Gammy Ray songs are from the "Land Of The Free" record that came out in '95 & says that was Kai's return to lead vocals with Gammy Ray. He says Gammy Ray's a great band & he digs what they're doing, says he don't know why Kai left Helloween & feels there
may've been a problem with him & Michael Weikath. He says Helloween's gotten better since Kai left in lots of ways, says Gammy Ray's stayed the same & says it
reminds him of Slayer, AC/DC & says they deliver the same record on every record. He says that's great if you're a huge, loyal Gammy Ray fan, says for him it sometimes gets a little bit of "same old, same old" & says the "Land Of The Free" record's very cool. He says it also had Kiske on guest vocals & it wasn't on the 2 songs that you heard before, says he loves the lyric on "Men On A Mission" where it says "I'm a man on a mission & my diligence won't wait, there's supersonic killers
in the sky". He says he learned the word diligence after reading Steven King's "The Talisman": http://tinyurl.com/rp9zg & was about to explain about the evil Morgan, but
says you'd have to read the book because he can't explain it & don't have enough time [NOTE FROM JEFF:Here's an explaination about the book:
http://tinyurl.com/m2fxo ]. He then described Morgan coming down the highway to attack Jason who's really Jack Sawyer & his diligence was following him, says he
thinks diligence [in the story] was like a posse, then says "YEAH, MY POSSE" & says this is like "YEAH, MY DILIGENCE". He says if you haven't read the book &
you're into reading which he says is a rare thing nowadays, says lots of people don't read anymore & says to check the book out. He says you should also check out
Gammy Ray that has many classic records, says Kai's a great guitarist & says he'll leave it at that & move on. He again says it's Sunday night on XM 41 Da Boneyard,
says he's your host of pure rockesity Chris Jericho & says he's got lots of stuff to play for you this week. He says there'll be a couple of debuts of some new bands that
haven't been heard on his show, says he's turning up his sound levels, asks if you can hear him better now, apologizes for having his level a bit low & says us guys know how that feels. He says he got a request via his MySpace page & plugs it www.myspace.com/therockofjericho , says you should know all the dipsy doodles on how to get on MySpace & says if you don't at his point, it's like a stewardess explaining how to put on a seat belt when you get on a plane. He asks as to why they
[stewardesses] still do that, says everyone knows how to put on a f*****g seat belt & says if you don't know, do you except someone to show you how to breathe also?
He says he was on his MySpace & someone asked him if he'll ever play some Celtic Frost & says here's where the controversy starts. He says if it's pronounced "Selltic" Frost or "Keltic" Frost, says he don't know & says in Canada where he's from, says it's the land of the free & the home of the brave & wonders if it's the land of the free-er & the home of the braver. He says in Canada they pronounce it as "Selltic" Frost, then says it's apparently "Keltic" Frost & again says he don't know for sure & asks you to email him at messagesforchris@gmail.com the answer. He says he was never a huge Celtic Frost fan, says it's 1 of the original thrash metal band, mentions Tom G. Warrior who's the singer/guitarist of the band & used to be in the band Hellhammer & formed Keltic/Celtic Frost. He says they did have the satanic type vibe, says they're lot deeper than that & says the thing about Celtic Frost's that they came out with a glam metal record in '89 called "Cherry Orchards". He says he won't play that song this week & if you haven't heard "Keltic" Frost, he says he won't start off with their glam rock song that he says totally killed all their credibility. He says this was like a reverse Pantera, says Pantera started as a glam metal band, then got to be a super huge, heavy thrash band & says "Keltic" Frost started as a
super huge, heavy satanic thrash band & went glam. He says he's talking "top button of the jeans opened", pierced lips, underwear hanging out & says they looked like
4 Paul Stanleys. He says for Paul Stanley it's cool, says he'll talk about Paul later & says for the satanic "Keltic" Frost, it didn't work out. He says the 1st "Keltic" Frost
song he's ever heard was a cover by the band called Wall Of Voodoo, says Wall Of Voodoo was a 1 hit wonder in the 80's & says they ["Keltic" Frost] did their [Wall Of Voodoo] song. He says the 1st "Keltic" Frost song that lots of you will ever hear on the "ROJ", is a cover tune but it's very cool. He says it's like when Type O Negative
did "Summer Breeze" or "Cinnamon Girl", says the song's called "Mexican Radio" & again says he ain't sure if they're called "Keltic" Frost or Celtic Frost. He says this song's for a fan named Arthur from Macon, Georgia who asked to hear it & says this is Jericho from Winnipeg, Canada who'll play it for you right here on a Sunday night
on the "ROJ".

3.Plays Celtic Frost's "Mexican Radio" & AC/DC's "Big Gun".

4.Y2J says he had a debate with a couple of people the other day as to what's the greatest hard rock band of all time is, says it comes down to either Van Halen or AC/DC & says there's no doubt about it on 1 or the other. He says he might tend to go more on the DC side of things, says that song ["Big Gun"] was a soundtrack song , says when bands usually give soundtrack songs which are throwaway songs & says that's like an AC/DC throwaway. He asked as to what movie soundtrack "Big Gun" is from, says it's from "Last Action Hero": http://tinyurl.com/kq8ds & says a fan named Johnny Schwartz in Sandusky, Ohio got it right. He says he [Y2J] is a prophet, a teleconnect & he can feel these things & says "Last Action Hero" was known for having a great soundtrack for a s*** movie. He says it had [Arnold]
Schwarzenegger & was crap, because he was in a movie within a movie & was an action hero but was an actor, says he himself don't even know what happened & says he'd rather watch "Jingle All The Way": http://tinyurl.com/pt6zh anyday. He says the soundtrack had AC/DC's "Big Gun", Tesla's "Last Action Hero", thinks Alice In
Chains' "Would" is on there [NOTE FROM JEFF:It's actually "A Little Bitter"] as well as Alice In Chains' "What The Hell Have I", Queensryche's "Real World" & says
Queensryche actually played with Dream Theater when both toureda couple of years ago. He says they joined each other for songs & asks as to why would Queensryche do "Real World" to play with Dream Theater. He says when they played "Real World", Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess had to write down the
notes for Queensryche to follow because they couldn't remember & says it was on 1 big page. He then spells it D, G, A, B sharp, says it was 4 notes & had to write them down on a piece of paper & says Dream Theater has 75 notes on every bar. He says he's off on a tangent & again says "Last Action Hero" has a great soundtrack but a s*** movie, says that's all he has to say about it, says he'll move forward, says to always move forward but never backward & says that's his motto. He says he don't literally say or mean it, but thinks the point should be clear, says it's similiar to & says "segway alert, WEE HUH, WEE HUH, WEE HUH" & says it should be clear that Lizzy Borden was a great metal band & says that was the worst segway ever. He says Lizzy had this crazy, dandylion friz hair, says Lizzy's masterpiece was a record called "Master Of Disguise" which was a concept record about a "Phantom Of The Opera" type thing, where the character that's hiding in the shadow's performing & disguising himself like a master. He says 1 of his favorite songs from there almost reminded him of an Elton John/Tim Curry/Rocky Horror Picture Show type vibe to it. He says he always thought that if it stood out from every other kind of metal song that was happening at the time, says it wasn't glam, thrash or poppy but more of a Broadway theater type song. He says he'll throw it to the Rock Of Jericholics worldwide listening all over on XM Radio & on the web on www.xmradio.com
& says to check out Lizzy Borden from the "Master Of Disguise" record. He says to think Broadway with the lights down, says there's smoke on the stage with a couple of street lights & street lamps & maybe with some [what sounded like] "brick & morder" & a neon sign that says "Big Al's Bar". He says then the song starts &
Lizzy walks on stage.

5.Plays Lizzy Borden's "Phantom's", Mother Love Bone's "Bone China" & Dio's "Night People".

6.Y2J says he hasn't heard "Night People" in about 20 years, then says since the record came out in '87 which makes it 19 years, says he never bought the "Dream
Evil" record but has the song "Dream Evil". He says he loves "All The Fools Sailed Away" which he says could be 1 of his favorite Dio songs, but "Night People" that kicks off the record which has the 1st time we've ever heard Craig Goldy as the guitarist in Dio & says that's a great song. He says this is what happens here & why he
loves doing the show, says besides the huge amounts of cash that he makes & all the beautiful girls that knock down his door on a daily basis to tell him as to how great his show is. He says he loves finding these little nuggets of joys & gems, says if you think of Dio he plays "Last In Line" often, stuff from "Holy Diver" & Sabbath Dio. He asked as to who would've thunk it of "Night People" & says it's a great song with great lyrics, drummer, look with a long blonde geek with glasses & says that's
his 2nd Spinal Tap referrence in the 1st 20 to 30 minutes of the show. He says sandwiched in between like a nice little piece of cooked ham that's sliced thin where he is at Sweet Bay, Florida is a Mother Love Bone sandwich with "Bone China" & says that's HHH's theme [aka referring to his past relationship with Joanie "Chyna" Laurer: http://tinyurl.com/osd9g ]. He says the wrestling fans nationwide are snickering with him, then comically snickers & says the rest of the people are saying "what is he talking about, we don't know what a HHH is". He tells them that they don't wanna know, says HHH changed his name: http://tinyurl.com/nm7hd from Hunter Hearst Hemsley to HHH & says Italy's Rhapsody changed their name to Rhapsody On Fire, then corrects himself & says Rhapsody Of Fire. He says he don't know why
they did that or why a band would change their name kinda midway thru & doesn't change it to a completely different thing, but add "Of Fire" at the end of it & says that's kind of a strange thing. He says Rhapsody's a strange thing to begin with, says again they're from Italy with 6 guys in the band & play fantasy, dungeons & dragons rock. He says the lead singer has a sword on stage & kinda wheels it in a menacing fashion, says they sing about dragons & look like they're from the 16th
century by wearing puffy shirts & [yep, what sounded like] "bards tights" & stuff like that. He says Luca Turilli's the guitarist who's great, but wears this horrible huge mullet pony tail & with bangs that're fluffed out. He says from the looks department, says you know him because he's all about the looks, says Fozzy played a show with them at the 2002 Bang Your Head Festival in Germany & says you're looking at these guys walking around backstage while holding their swords & wearing their [yep, what sounded like] "chainmail". He says there's nothing wrong with holding swords, says he holds his sword all the time & says he's holding his "sword" right now.
He says to do it on stage & to be singing about Grendel & The Menetour & says it's a whole different ball of wax. He says it's kinda stepping a bit over the line, then
screams "OVER THE LINE, SMOKY" & says a fan name Tera who always requests songs for the show wants to hear some Rhapsody On Fire & says he'll play it for her. He says it's similiar to about a fan named Brian wanted to hear Lizzy Borden earlier, says a fan named Arthur from Macon, Georgia heard Keltic/Celtic Frost & says
for Tera, this is Rhapsody On Fire's "Land Of Immortal" from the immortal DJ here on XM Radio & says this is Jericho.

7.Rhapsody's "Land Of Immortal" & Children Of Bodom's "Triple Corpse Hammerblow".

8.Y2J says we take a trip all the way from Italy to Finland with Children Of Bodom's Alexi "Wild Child" Laiho, then sings "Children Of Bodom, Children Of Bodom, I like to sing the woooord bodom". He says when he 1st heard that [Children Of Bodom] he thought it was "Children Of Sodom" & they misspelled it, but says bodom's a lake
in Finland where there were a bunch of killings & says it's like the children of bodom. He says it's like "Friday The 13th"/"Camp Crystal Lake" type vibe, says if anyone
listens to "The ROJ" you know he loves some Children Of Bodom as well as Kiss. He says the cool thing is that even though he shouldn't announce this because he
wants to get in, but on 11/14 at Los Angeles' House Of Blues they'll have the "Paul Stanley:Live To Win" tour: http://tinyurl.com/oua9e . He says Paul's doing a solo record & says the thing that's cool is that you see Gene [Simmons] on A&E's "The Family Jewels": http://tinyurl.com/qokdc , says on his "A*****e" record he's wearing a suit & tie & says he couldn't look more corporate. He says you see "The Live To Win" ad with Paul wearing cool rock & roll tshirts on that people wear & the jeans & says he looks like a 19 year old kid that just walked off the street as a singer/songwriter & ready to play. He says Paul still has the rock edge to him & Gene's just a total corporate side of the coin, then says he [Y2J] is a Paul guy, says he's his favorite Kiss guy & always has been & says there's some great Paul Stanley songs that
could be huge hit, but they aren't released as singles. He says he was [as he says it] "parusing" his "Burrn" magazine that has 2 "R's" & says "Burrn" magazine's the
greatest heavy metal magazine that he can't read [due to it ONLY being in Japanese: http://tinyurl.com/enzkk ]. He says he actually started learning to read Japanese so he can read the magazine, says he saw the setlist because they always print it which's another reason why he loves it so much & says he's a real stickler for details
if you couldn't tell from listening to his show. He says Kiss' busted out the mothballs with "Makin' Love", says it's got a great riff & sings:"BLEEH, LEH LEH BOW, BLEEH, LEH LEH BOW, BLEEH, LEH LEH VALALA BOW, BLEEH, LEH LEH BOW"! He says it's probably better then instead of him playing the riff with his mouth like Bobby McFarren, then hums & says "Don't worry, be happy" & says he should just play the song that's from "Alive II", which he says it's the greatest live album ever. He says this is Paul Stanley & the boys, right here on the "ROJ".

9.Kiss' "Makin' Love" & Alice In Chains' "Again".

10.Y2J says Alice In Chains' "Again" is for a fan named Hister who dedicated it to his wife Stacy, says another request & dream come true & says you know that Hister
runs Y2J's MySpace page, fluffs him & does his evil bidding. He says Hister's like Igor & he's Dr. Frankenstein, says he's like Bela Lugosi's "Dracula" & Hister's like
Renfield & says "Renfield, eat this cat", "Hister, eat the frog" & says he does it because he has to. He again says that [Alice In Chains' "Again"] was for Hister's wife
Stacy & says Stacy's far too good for him in his opinion. He says Alice In Chains' on tour: www.aliceinchains.com/tour with the new lead singer William DuVall, says he's heard that William sounds like Layne Staley & his stage presence was a little bit "ah" as Larry David would say. He says it's still a world with Alice In Chains in it is
better than a world with Alice In Chains not in it. He says requests are being answered, says he played Rhapsody On Fire earlier for Tera who's probably the most
frequent requester for his show, who's followed by Stef & says he found out that Stef's a girl. He says Stef's got the craziest taste & wanted to hear some Royal Hunt, asks if there's Royal Hunt in the system & says yes. He says they don't have Anthrax's "Among The Living" at XM's system but have Royal Hunt, says he's never heard
Royal Hunt's music & says he'll play 1 for Stef sound unheard. He says he always reads about them in "Burrn" magazine, says they're either from Sweden, Denmark or
1 of those type of countries & says he don't know what kind of music they are. He says it could be either German power metal style, power metal, pop glam metal, death metal, polka & says he don't know. He says the song's called "Tearing Down The World", says it could be Royal Hunt or a polka band, says that'd be a good name & says "NOW APPEARING AT UNCLE ELSE'S 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, ROYAL HUNT" & sings "DU DU DU DU DU DU, TEARING DOWN THE WORLD, DU DU DU DU DU DU, WE ARE TEARING DOWN THE WORLD, EVERYBODY DANCE". He says this is a real grab bag, says he'll play it & put the needle on the record & we'll see what happens. He says to don't lynch him if it's not heavy, just cross your fingers & check out the debut of Royal Hunt, right here on The Rock Of Jericho & says "3-2, I hope this is good, 1 go".

11.Royal Hunt's "Tearing Down The World" & Iron Maiden's "The Pilgrim".

12.Y2J says he made sure to follow up the Royal Hunt which he didn't know it was uncharted territory with some definete charted territory & says "The Pilgrim" is from
the "A Matter Of Life & Death" album. He says "The Pilgrim" has a little bit of Middle Eastern Indian thing going on with some "Powerslave" Egyptian thing that you know he digs. He says he loves Maiden, asks if you liked Royal Hunt & says to email him & let him know & again plugs his MySpace page. He says it's amazing on how websites are almost becoming obsolete as it compares to MySpace pages, says he just piggybacked his website [ www.chrisjericho.com ] on his MySpace page & says the only thing he does on his MySpace is that he puts up his website also. He says it's:

A.Because he thinks more people are into MySpace

B.He says he's just a lazy mother******

Y2J says he played some Raven last week from his newly discovered, "Nothing Exceeds Like Excess" & says he'll keep playing it. He says this is what he does when he finds a new record in the system that he hasn't played or heard, he's listening to it just as much as a fan as all of you. He says he remembers getting the "Nothing
Exceeds Like Excess" record for Christmas in '88 as well as Cheap Trick's "Live At The Budokan", says both bands are still going strong & are bound for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, then says maybe not both bands. He says he just remembered as to how much he loved Raven with John Gallagher who's 1 of his all time favorite bass heroes ever. He asks himself as to what he wants to play, then says he'll go for some underated bass players & says Gallagher who's a very underated bassist who sings at the same time. He then mentions Doug Pinnick being another underated bassist who also sings at the same time, says he was hanging out with his new
best buddy & bro Hal Sparks that he met on "Celebrity Duets". He says Hal's a huge Pinnick & King's X fan, says Hal even has some of the dudes from King's X & Pinnick singing on his new record on a band called "Zero 1" [NOTE FROM JEFF:Not to be confused with the Zero 1 Max promotion] & says he'll play some songs from them when the album comes out. He says he don't know what went wrong with King's X who had everything, says they were very heavy with great harmonies, songwriting, had an interesting sound & figures maybe they had a bad record company's representation. He says it's the same thing that happens all the time to countless bands over & over again worldwide & figures this may've happened to King's X also. He says they were managed by Sam Taylor who may've taken them away
from the primrose path & says the good news' that King's X's still touring: www.kingsxonline.com/tour.html , gigging & making records. He says other good news' that
Raven's still making records & are recording a new record now for the past 6 years & says these bands still exist. He says if you're fans [of either or both] to find them on MySpace, their sites: www.kingsxonline.com & www.ravenlunatics.com & when they perform at your local concert halls: http://tinyurl.com/yd35qg & play for you
wearing denim & leather. He says the bands are still out there & the reason so is that they love to rock, says that's why he's doing his show, says it's why you're listening to it & says it's because you love him. He says let's do some Raven & Kings X, grab a stine of beer & say cheer to all of the bands that're still playing the music that they love playing as well as still rocking it all across the board. He says this is Raven with a nice little ditty that's written in the saddest key & says it's called "Into The Jaws Of Death".

13.Plays Raven's "Into The Jaws Of Death", King's X's "Chariot Song" & Slayer's "Supremist".

14.Y2J says Slayer's "Supremist" is from the new "Christ Illusion" CD & asks if there's any doubt that he had to say it's Slayer. He says earlier on he talked about Gamma Ray starting off with the 1-2 punch, said that Slayer kinda does a similiar record every time & says if that's what you want because if Kerry King was here now,
he'd ask him:"Hey Kerry, you guys do a similiar record every time?" & says that Kerry's response would be:"Exactly, that's what our fans want". He says Slayer's "Supremist" has the unbelievable drumming of Dave Lombardo, who he says is the only man on the planet that's suited to play drums for Slayer. He says you can
imitate Lombardo but can't duplicate him & says you can't duplicate a Slayer album cover also. He says they're very bleek with "Hell Awaits" & "South Of Heaven" & "Reign In Blood", says it's very sad & "BLAH" where it's an aronamus, bosh type paintings. He says it's like Benjamin Breeg type paintings that're sick & disgusting, says "Christ Illusion" is no different & it's to the point where in lots of countries, the cover's a white background with "Slayer" written on it & inside the Slayer logo is all of the "Christ Illusion" type armless zombies or whatever. He says you can see parts of it, says it's kinda been censored & says it maybe better because it scares people as well as himself. He says he's easily scared & Slayer's album covers scare him, says it's funny because whenever you go to a rock & roll show & people on
stage yell out:"IS THERE ANY REQUESTS, WHAT DO YOU WANNA HEAR" & says people always yell out "SLAYER". He says they've been doing that for years, says he remembers as a kid growing up in Winnipeg, then says if he had to say that again because it's the 5th time he mentioned it today on ths show & says people
would always says "SLAYER, LET'S HERE SOME SLAYER". He says even if it was like Marth & The Muffins is in town with the Crash Test Dummies are up on stage & then hums "MMM MMM MMM MMM, MMM MMM MMM MMM, SLAYER". He says the only other band that gets the same shoutout is "WHAT DO YOU WANNA HEAR, FREEBIRD", says it's kind of becoming a mocking type thing & says "Freebird, Ah Freebird Freebird". He says the deal's that he's going a little bit of the beat &
path on his show The Rock Of Jericho, says as if he has to say it's The Rock Of Jericho, says he was listening to "Free Bird" the other day & says if you haven't heard
the song in a while & understands because he's got young & older fans. He says "Free Bird" by far, says he's issuing a challenge to you & says has the best guitar jam
in rock & roll history that's included in the song. He says it's by far & bar none is the best rock & roll guitar jam ever, says he heard on the radio & texted Mike Portnoy & told him the same thing. He says Mike texted him back & asked if he was joking because lots of people mock the song, says he texted Mike back saying he's
serious because this could be the best guitar jam of all time. He says Mike sent him a file from Dream Theater's "Once In A Lifetime", where at the end of "Take The Time" they bust into the "Free Bird" final jam. He says he'll play the song now to end the show off, says it starts slow but when it finishes, he dares anyone & says this is a challenge from me to you & says he ain't talking about Paul McCartney. He says he challenges anyone to name another song in rock, metal or whatever that's got a better guitar jam at the end of the song. He says there's solos on this record that [Yngwie] Malmsteen couldn't play as far as feel & says he'll describe what happens in case he needs you to stick with him at the end of the show on this. He says there's 3 guitarists in Skynyrd where they double the solo at the very end, then they split
off & both do separate solos at the same time. He says mentions Allen Collins, Steve Gaines & Gary Rossington as the guitarists, says they're all playing different
solos at the same time, says it's not harmony solos or rhythm solos where 1 guy solos & switches over. He says they're 2 separates solos playing at the same time
that completely combines & says it's f*****g amazing. He says he's so excited to play the song for you, says don't think of it as a metal thing but as a rock & roll thing & says if you're a guitarist or a fan of guitar playing, this is the s*** & your Dad as Fozzy's Sean Delson would say. He says he's over, finished, gone, done & out, says he's leaving you this week with Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" & again makes the challenge which he says it's a test. He says he expects all of you to follow thru, says to name him another song ever that has a better guitar jam at the end of the song & says the song's about 4 minutes. He says to prepare yourselves, again plugs his
email & says to feel free & lambass & flame him & do what you have to do. He again says it's Lynyrd Skynyrd who're Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame as well as Guitar World Hall Of Fame members & says as far as he's concered that as of tonight, they're Rock Of Jericho Hall Of Fame members. He says he leaves you with the triple guitar
attack of "Free Bird", right here on XM 41 Da Boneyard.

15.Ends with Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" & the show ends at 9:57PM.
