Subject: 10/29 Rock Of Jericho report

1.Starts the show at 8PM with Iron Maiden's "The Number Of The Beast" & Black Sabbath's "Black Sabbath".

2.Y2J says welcome to XM 41 Da Boneyard: http://tinyurl.com/6hmt6 & The Rock Of Jericho: http://tinyurl.com/rssxe on a Sunday night, says this is not just another
Sunday night but it's the Hallows Eve, then says "before the Hallows Eve" twice & says it's the Halloween special. He says it's 2 nights before Halloween & says it used to be called "Gate Night" which was the night before Halloween & says this is the "Gate Night" before "Gate Night". He says he usually does a 1-2 punch of 2 songs from the same record by the same band, but since this is the special Halloween show he did a 1-2 punch of "Chris Jericho's Scarriest Songs". He says if you put him in a darkened room in the middle of the night with either 1 of those 2 songs on & says he'd scare the crap out of himself. He says if you're listening to his show & didn't know those songs or who they're sung by, then you shouldn't be listening to his show & says he won't refund your [XM Radio] membership & says you need to brush up
your metal. He says those 2 songs are definetly the cornerstones of heavy metal by 2 bands that're the cornerstones of heavy metal, but even worse that they're scary
songs that kicked off tonight's show. He says he's scared now & standing in the middle of a light room, says there's bulbs shining everywhere, says he's wearing a
rhinestone suit that's reflecting off the sequence & again says he's scared. He says he's not lying to you & says he's freaked out, says Iron Maiden's didn't play "The Number Of The Beast" on the "Matter Of Life & Death" tour which he says he saw a week ago in Irvine, California. He says they played "A Matter Of Life & Death" in it's
entirety & not 1 person complained, says it's very rare because if you think of any other band that plays their new record in it's entirety & says people loved it. He says they played 5 songs at the end with deeper album cuts like "2 Minutes To Midnight", "The Evil That Men Do", "Iron Maiden", "Hallowed Be Thy Name" & "Fear Of The
Dark". He says it was 1 of the best shows that was packed & sold out to the gills, says 16,000 fans & says Bruce [Dickinson] sounded great & says the thing about
Maiden that impresses him, is that how the combine the "3 guitar attack". He says he knows that Janick Gers gets lots of flack for the scissor kicks & says he can't
imagine Iron Maiden at this point without them. He says they do such a great job of intertwining the 3 guitar parts & harmonies, says sometimes there's 2 harmonies & a rhythm part that's played or sometimes they double up on the same line with another rhythm part. He says they do a tremendous job of connecting the dots on all 3
guitarists, says Iron Maiden to this day is a better band in 2006 then in '86 on the "Somewhere On Tour". He says that's his creed & decree & says that's why they're
choosen, says "Number Of The Beast" & "Black Sabbath" are creepy songs & says the lyrics "what is this that stands before me, I lived alone my mind was blank" & says that's great stuff. He mentions older 80's songs with another band that emphasized a horror movie theme & says it's Twisted Sister. He says even to the point that
lead singer Dee Snider did the "Strangeland" 1 & 2 movies: http://tinyurl.com/yaha37 , where he actually wrote & starred in his own horror movies that're based around this next song. He says the serial killer was called Capt.Howdy that Dee played, says Dee wrote the serial killer script about the crazy child who's sort of a Mr. Rogers
gone mad. He says Capt.Howdy wasn't a song on it's own, says it part of a full story of a "Horror Teria" & says that's from the "Stay Hungry" record. He says he don't
know what "Horror Teria" means, says he wonders if it's pronounced as "Horror Tiera" & wonders if it's like a cafeteria where you pick a couple of things & says he ain't
sure. He says it was called "Horror Teria:The Beginning", says if Twisted Sister ever does another record & there's rumors that they're working on 1, he says that he,
Chris Jericho, the host of his show who's the idol to millions, the Ayatollah of Rock & Rolla, hero & leader to all of the Rock Of Jericholics. He says that Twisted Sister
should do "Horror Teria:The Ending", says they've done the beginning, says let's here the ending & about Capt.Howdy from "Strangeland" & where it follows up & segways into "Street Justice". He again says it's a couple of nights before Halloween, says these are songs that's scare us & says they scare him. He asks if they scare you & says let's see right here on "The Rock".

3.Plays Twisted Sister's "Horror Teria" & [although it didn't appear on my screen] "Street Justice".

4.Y2J says the 1st song ["Horror Teria"] was about the child/TV star gone wrong & says the 2nd song was about vigilante justice or street justice. He says it's not so
much of a horror story in a classic sense, but says if you have kids like he does it's more scarrier to think. He says both songs are preying on kids, says kudos to Snider who was on Fox's "Celebrity Duets" with Hal Sparks where they sang "I Wanna Rock", "We're Not Gonna Take It" & says it was awesome. He says Sparks'
band Zero 1 will have a new record soon [NOTE FROM JEFF:It came out 10/27: http://tinyurl.com/yy4yw9 ] , says you'll hear tracks from it on his show where he says it's the best show not only on XM or satellite radio in general, but says it's the best in the entire world & asks if anyone denies it. He asks you to tell your friends to check the show out, says his show's growing in leaps & bounds & asks to join him at www.myspace.com/therockofjericho & says to be his friend because he's upping
& doubling the friend totals. He then plugs www.myspace.com/fozzytour , www.chrisjericho.com & asks you to email him requests for next week's show, says this week's OK because it's the Halloween show & asks to email your requests at messagesforchris@gmail.com . He asks you to get it together & work together & asks as
to what songs you'd like to hear, says this week's scarry songs by scarry bands & asks if there's a scarrier band in the world than Slayer. He says Slayer's been scarring the crap out of everyone for over 20 years, says their lyrics are dark & deathfilled that's based around the devil & talks like the "Saturday Night Live" Church Lady & says "Satan, Satan". He says they're still creepy to this day, says their new record "Christ Illusion" has an album cover that if you'd show it to your pastor, he'd
yell at your for having it: http://tinyurl.com/ynfnpp . He says that's scarry & says to look at Kerry King's beard is scarry, says hello & says that's scarry, scarry stuff. He
says if you're listening in Canada he calls himself "The Count Floyd Of Metal" tonight, says "it's scarry kiddies, OOOOHHHH!, here them", then howls like a wolf & says
"it's scarry, scarry, scarry, you can see the creatures everywhere, thru the eyes of the insane".

5.Plays Slayer's "Eyes Of The Insane" & Kiss' "Unholy".

6.Y2J says "Mean Gene" [Simmons NOT Okerlund] himself the demon is 1 of the original scarry people of rock & says when he was a kid he was scared of Gene Simmons. He says the front cover of the "Alive" record: http://tinyurl.com/uw6hr where Gene sat there & the blood coming out of his mouth & looked like a bloated, fat vampire & says that's what Gene is nowadays. He says in '77 Gene was the s*** & was scarry, says "Unholy" is a great, terrorfilled song & says it could relate to Slayer. He says there's not another unholy band on the planet then Tom Araya & the lads, says they're touring on the "Unholy Alliance" tour: www.slayer.net/tour & says Kiss' not on it. He says the reason's that Paul Stanley's also touring on the "Live To Win" tour: http://tinyurl.com/yj6xk2 , says he's excited because he'll see him
11/14 in Los Angeles: http://tinyurl.com/oua9e . He says James Hetfield, Bruce Dickinson & Paul Stanley are his all time 3 favorite rock & roll heroes, says maybe Steve Harris also & says Paul's his boy. He says he remembers when Kiss' "Unholy" video came out, it was Gene's 1st video/single in 10 years & says "Unholy" came
out in '92. He says Gene's previous video/single was "I Love It Loud" in '82, says the entire 10 years in between & Kiss released 4 or 5 records in that time & says all the singles were Paul Stanley songs. He says Paul held the ship down & you have to give him credit, but says Gene was out dating Cher, making movies & starting
record companies with Silent Rage & says while all that happened, Paul was holding the ship down & taking care of business with Kiss & taking care of business on the road. He says Gene was so crazy that he actually trademarked his makeup & sued King Diamond, who's makeup didn't resemble Gene's & says Gene was bored 1 day & decided to sue him. He says if he was Gene, he wouldn't sue King Diamond because King Diamond's an actual satanist & a card carrying member. He says it don't
mean that he's sacrificing babies, but believes in all the satanic principles like "you are your own God & you do what you'd wanna do, etc, etc". He says King's made a
living off of basically musicial horror movies, says he's done concept records like "Them", "Conspiracy", "Abigail", "Voodoo", "Spider's Lullabye", "The Puppetmaster" &
says every 1 of them's a story amongs itself & made into a rock & roll record. He says this started with "Abigail" in '87, that's another terrifying story about possession,
ghosts, murder & everyone you'd wanna hear 2 nights before Halloween with a kickass chorus & some creepy King Diamond vocals. He says no one sings creepier than
he does & says if you don't believe him, this is "Abigail" on "The Rock".

7.Plays King Diamond's "Abigail" & Murderdolls' "Dawn Of The Dead".

8.Y2J says he don't know if you're like him but he likes watching scary movies all the time, but especially around Halloween where the weather's cold even in Florida
where he is, says there's a cold snap & says it's like Canada in September outside & says he loves it. He says if you're looking for a good horror movie to watch this
Halloween, says check out "Dawn Of The Dead" & says it don't matter which version because they're both great: http://tinyurl.com/yn4h7s . He says the original version is a little bit 70's-esk & says that's fine because it was done in the '70's [1978] & the remake that was made 2 or 3 years ago [2004], he says he was so against it because he didn't wanna see a remake of it. He says when he did see it, it was 1 of the best movies he's seen & would put it up there in 1 of his favorite horror movie lists. He says it's rare when a remake turns out to be better than the original, says he won't say that the "Dawn Of The Dead" remake's better but just as good in a
different way, but it's more for the MTV new millenium generation. He says if you haven't seen it you should, says The Murderdolls saw it with their version of "Dawn Of The Dead" & says it's a great song title. He says Wednesday 13 was the singer for the band & now is a solo artist that's touring with another original scarry man Alice
Cooper. He says we won't hear any Alice tonight, says he couldn't fit him in because he's got lots of scarry tunes & says he had lots of ideas for other bands. He says if
you wanna hear Alice to listen to Da Boneyard during the day, says Wednesday 13's a good match for Alice because he's a young, new aged, scarry guy. He says The Murderdolls told him that they opened for Iron Maiden in Europe a couple of years ago & played to the backs of the audiences, who turned their backs on The Murderdolls because Maiden fans much like Slayer fans are so loyal, that they don't wanna hear an opening band & says The Murderdolls were murdered when they played on stage with Maiden. He says it's the same with Metallica because they'd be a hard gig to open for them, says that's why they tour on their own, says they're
doing a new record but also have 1 of the scarriest tracks of all time. He says it came back in the day when Cliff Burton was rocking the bass, says there's a tasty little
fill at the beginning of this song ["Creeping Death"] that it didn't notice until maybe 15 years after he 1st started listening to the record. He says he played Cliff Burton a
couple of weeks ago, says "The Death Of Cliff Burton", says he was a great bassist & how he was an inspiration behind the band & says he was also a creepy guy. He
says he had a Misfits shoulder tattoo which was a skull & says "skeleton skull, OOHH scarry skeleton BLUUUUUUH". He says this song's from a bible story that says
that God would strike down & kill the 1st born son of anyone in Egypt that didn't have the splash of red blood on the door when the Angel Of Death came around. He
says if you don't think the Bible's not a cool story, says he guarantees that you'll read it & dig it & says that's a horror movie in itself. He says let's listen to James [Hetfield], Lars [Ulrich], Kirk [Hammett] & Cliff [Burton] as they tell you about the old testament, right here on a Sunday night & says it's the Halloween Special on The Rock Of Jericho.

9.Plays Metallica's "Creeping Death", Arch Enemy's "Skeleton Dance" & Armored Saint's "Book Of Blood".

10.Y2J says he loves the song title "Book Of Blood" from Armored Saint's "Raising Fear" record, says "Book Of Blood" means that it comes from a clive, then says he
was gonna say "Clive Burr" & "Clive Davis", then wonders what the guy's name that did the "Hell Raiser" movie. He says "BRAIN FREEZE" & says it's Clive Barker, says Barker did short stories called "Books Of Blood": http://tinyurl.com/ykpvnc & it says "everybody's a book of blood, whenever we're opened we're red". He asks what's black, white & red all over, then repeats it again & says it's a newspaper again says "everybody's a book of blood, whenever we're opened we're red". He says
that's a cool idea for a song title, says jammed in the middle is Angela Gossow, says that's a double entandra on Arch Enemy's "Skeleton Dance" & says it's another
creepy, scarry song by another creepy, scarry band. He says the creepiest, scarriest band besides Slayer would be Cannibal Corpse, says he'd never play Cannibal Corpse on his show, says it's probably never been played on Da Boneyard either but wants to play it because it's the Halloween show. He says this band's based themselves again around the whole, says if King Diamond's a 30's or 40's horror movie then Cannibal Corpse's a '97 Mexican horror movie or just pure gore & no substance. He says these songs are crappy but the lyrics are what makes them great, says any band that releases a song called "Ripping Entrails From A Virgin's C***" & says that's all you have to say. He says he'd never play a song with that title, says it pains him to say it on the air & says that's the actual song title from Cannibal Corpse. He says although that won't be played, the song "Hammer Smashed Face" will be played & mentions the words to it that're written by the band:

"Brutality now becomes my appetite, violence is now a way of life
The sledge my tool to torture, as it pounds down on your forehead
Eyes bulging from their sockets, with every swing of my mallet
I smash your f*****g head in, until brain seeps in thru the cracks
Blood does leak distorted beauty, catastrophe
Steaming slop, splattered all over me
Lecherous abcess, where you once had a head
Avoiding the prophecy of my new found lust
Facial bones collapse as I crack your skull in half
Draining the snot, I rip out the eyes
Peeling the flesh off the bottom of my weapon
Involuntarily pulpifying facial regions"

Y2J says that's like the "moon in June, I like to spoon" type lyrics, says the test for you is that the lyrics he just read, he wants you to try define 1 friggin word from them during the song. He says from the "artsfull, tunesmiths, melody & beautiful harmonies" of Cannibal Corpse, right here on the Halloween Special on The Rock Of Jericho on XM 41 Da Boneyard.

11.Plays Cannibal Corpse's "Hammer Smashed Face" & Dokken's "Mr. Scary".

12.Y2J says after that [yep, as he says it] "ricoculous" display of Cannibal Corpse's singing he had to have a song that had no singing in it, says the singing was so
rotten in Cannibal Corpse that no one could've followed it & says he chose a song that had no singing, that's on the scariest night on his show in the entire year with "Mr. Scary" & George Lynch. He says George was in a band called "Stars" in the 70's before joing Dokken, says George's like 60 years old or something like that & says the thing about him is that he was discovered by Gene Simmons, who wanted him to be called "John Links". He says Gene told George that if he changed his name to "John Links" because the George Lynch thing won't work & says if he changed his name, then & only then my friend he'll make it huge in the rock & roll world & asks if whether or not that was a good call. He says George didn't change the name & didn't go with the "John Links" & says he's now an international superstar. He says George did fall of the radar in the last few years, says he had huge heat with Don Dokken & hasn't done much since then. He says George has done a couple of
things here & there but not anything got to the depths & levels of Dokken as he did when rocking with "Mr. Scary". He asks as to what "Mr. Scary" means, says it's George's nickname because he's so badass on the guitar & then says he'll fill you in, help you out & that's what he does on his show. He says when he was 17, then corrects himself & says 16 & says he saw Metallica play with Jason Newsted, which was the 1st few gigs that he did after joining them when Cliff Burton died. He says
the opener was Metal Church & where on a stage that was the size of your bed, says Metallica didn't give Metal Church too much space or much room to rock & says they still did & remembers them playing the next song. He says it's also the next song on his Halloween Special, says this is from "The Dark" album & says it's
"Psycho".

13.Plays Metal Church's "Psycho", Dangerous Toys' "Scared" & Judas Priest's "The Ripper".

14.Y2J says "The Ripper" is a great song that's based on Jack The Ripper & says Fozzy also has a song based on Jack The Ripper called "Whitechappel 1888". He says it didn't have vocalist Rob Halford & "The Ripper" did & says it's a great track. He says before that was Dangerous Toys' "Scared", then asks as to if anyone knows
what kind of affiliation that Dangerous Toys, Judas Priest & Metal Church have in common. He says this is a forgotten tour, says it's the "Operation Rock & Roll Tour" in
'91 that had Priest, Church, Toys, Alice Cooper & Motorhead. He says that's another mention of Alice, says maybe he should've play some Alice songs, says it's too
late & says he'll play some next week. He says what was noted about the "Operation Rock & Roll Tour" was that the final date of it in Toronto in '91, was the final day
that Halford played with Priest before quitting for almost 15 years. He says Halford was starting up his motorcycle to race on the stage at 1 mile an hour for "Hell Bent For Leather", says there was a drum riser that was raising, missed his cue, drove on stage & wacked himself on the rising drum pad/set/kit & knocked himself out, while the band played an instrumental version of "Hell Bent For Leather" before Halford got himself back into gear & worble the rest of the set. He says Halford was pissed & said "this is it, I'm done, no more Priest, 'Ripper' & 'Operation Rock & Roll'" & says that was interesting. He says Dangerous Toys has Jason McMaster, says
he's said this a million times & will say it again & says Jason sang on "Signus & The Sea Monsters" which's Mike Portnoy's Rush tribute record, says you know he can sing & says it's a great song. He says he's continuing with his Halloween Special, says he started the show with the Black Sabbath song, says "Black Sabbath" is 1 of the scarriest songs of all time & says Ozzy's got lots of creepy tracks. He says to him, "Mr. Crowley" would have to be right up there especially the live version of the
song, because it's more haunting with the crowd & says he'll play it for you. He says he'll give you a tibbit as he always does as you expect he would, says when they
were recording the "No More Tears" record Zakk [Wylde] had 2 posters in his studio room & says it was Jimi Hendrix & Aleister Crowley. He says he don't know why &
not sure as to why you'd have a poster of Aleister f*****g Crowley up on your wall for inspiration, says he himself would choose a Pamela Anderson centerfold & says that's just him. He says Ozzy came in the studio where Zakk was recording & said [in an Ozzy impression]:"I know that's Jimi Hendrix but who the f*** is that?", says
Zakk's response was "who's that Ozz?", says Ozzy's response back was "yah, who's that?" & says Zakk's response was "it's Mr. Crowley, you've only been singing about him for 15 years". He says Ozzy said "I've never even seen a picture, I didn't know what he looked like", says Ozzy knows how the song goes, says it's a creepy
song with a crazy, erie, then says with 2 "E's" & says "eerie" keyboard intro from Don Airey, who replaced Jon Lord in Deep Purple. He says he himself knows everything & says if you have any questions to email him & says he'll answer all of your rock & roll questions. He says to sit back, turn the lights down, close your eyes & imagine that you're either a funeral, a seance or a cemetery & suddenly you hear this, then talks in a "creepy-like" way & says "rising, from the fog, on XM 41 Da Boneyard".

15.Plays Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowley" & Mastodon's "Circle Of Cysquatch".

16.Y2J says Mastodon's taken the nation by storm who's from Atlanta "GA" who's got lots of horror type lyrics, says that song ["Circle Of Cysquatch"] about a 1 eyed
Bigfoot which's a Cysquatch. He says it's not a Cyclops or a Sasquatch, but a combination of the 2 that's from the "Blood Mountain" record. He says they also have a
song about the "tree people" which're like "The Confessions Of The Tree People" or something which's based on "The Lord Of The Rings", says it's the giant [yep, as he says it] "Ents" that're the walking trees, says that's scary stuff & again says he's the "heavy metal Count Floyd" & again howls like a wolf. He again talks in a creepy way & says you can hear the children, it's scary & [yep, as he says it] "AH OH HO kiddies, monster ripper, chiller horror theater right here on XM 41 Da Boneyard". He
says before that was Ozzy's "Mr. Crowley" that's about Aleister Crowley, then says he forgot to mention this earlier & says it's who that George Lynch auditioned twice
for the gig in Ozzy. He says George once lost to Randy Rhoads, the other lost in a split decision to Jake E. Lee & says George's been around. He asks if you know why George didn't get the gig in Ozzy, says it's that he didn't change his name to "John Links" & says you have to get a name that really hits & mentions Helloween & says that's a great name. He says it's a no brainer that they have a song called "Halloween", says he mentioned last week that if you go to "Keeper Of The 7 Keys" &
read the liner notes, it says "anybody who confuses the song "Halloween" with the band Helloween & calls the band "Halloween" & the song "Helloween", will be turned into a savaged pumpkin". He says it's written [for reals] in the liner notes, says you better be careful & don't say "the song "Helloween" by the band 'Halloween'" & says
right now he's a savaged pumpkin. He says he's oranged, rotuned & says he's Tazz from the Glored family: http://tinyurl.com/yjqpy8 . He says what better way to end off "The Rock Of Jericho Halloween Special" says he does this every year & had the show for 2 years & says it's been twice. He says it's with a song that's an epic classic that's written by Kai Hanson, sung by Michael Kiske & says it even mentions Charlie Brown. He says if you remember the "Charlie Brown Halloween Special"
[NOTE FROM JEFF:It's really called "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown": http://tinyurl.com/yxtkeg ] where they say "I got a candy, I got a chocolate, I got a rock", then "The Great Pumpkin" arises from the field & says you can actually hear the words "Great Pumpkin" in this song ["Halloween"]. He says he's not kidding because
you can understand the lyrics, unlike Cannibal Corpse & says that's it. He says he's over, finished, gone, done & out & says he's leaving you with the ultimate Halloween heavy metal song, says again it's 2 nights before Halloween & says to be careful. He says get lots of candy & beware of the spirits of the dark, then laughs in an evil way & then coughs afterwards.

17.Ends with Helloween's "Halloween" & the show ends at 9:58PM.
