Author: Jeff
Subject: 7/16 Rock Of Jericho report

1.Starts the show with 2 Anthrax songs:"Among The Living" & "Caught In A Mosh".

2.Y2J says he loves the line on "Caught In A Mosh" & sings it:"WERE YOU DROPPED AS A BABY, CAUSE BRAINS YOU LACK", says he himself was dropped as a
baby, asks if anyone out there has also, says you must've been & that's why you're listening to The Rock Of Jericho: http://tinyurl.com/rssxe . He says it's like a pied
piper of people who're dropped as babies, he's the leader & all will follow him listening to rock & roll all the way. He says it's Sunday night which means 1 thing, it's The
Rock Of Jericho & he's Chris Jericho & says welcome & it's great to have you here. He says he's kicking it off with the famous 1-2 punch of Anthrax with the title track
"Among The Living" & "Caught In A Mosh" & again says "WERE YOU DROPPED AS A BABY, CAUSE BRAINS YOU LACK" was a great line as well as a great record. He says that's Anthrax's masterpiece in lots of ways, says it's their "Master Of Puppets" release which was kinda on the same timeline & it was their 3rd record,
which was the same way that "Master Of Puppets" was Metallica's 3rd record. He says that sort of a dichotomy there, says that's a good word & tells you to look it up
[NOTE FROM JEFF:For those that care, here's the definition: http://tinyurl.com/euwyo ]. He then says Anthrax & Rob Zombie are touring together [NOTE FROM JEFF:
Here's their tour schedules: http://www.anthrax.com & http://www.robzombie.com/tour ], says Anthrax's doing the off show dates when they're off the Zombie tour &
Zombie's not doing a show. He says Anthrax will do a show near the town & do in it's entirety "Among The Living", says that's something to be seen & he'd love to see it. He says you hear lots of songs, says "Among The Living" is still played live all the time, "Caught In A Mosh", "Indians", wonders what the Judge Dredd song & says "I Am The Law". He says to hear "A Skelton In The Closet", "Horror Of It All", "Imitation Of Life", says they probably haven't played those songs in years & says he was
talking with Scott Ian at the House Of Blues where he plays with his fiance Pearl Aday. He asks twice as to who's Pearl Aday, then sings "DO A DAY, A FEMALE DAY. RAY, A DROP OF GOLDEN SUUUUUUUUUUUUN!" & says she's Meat Loaf's daughter & Ian's fiance. He says Scott met her on the Anthrax tour when she was
singing backup for [as he says it] "MOTLEY CLAH", says they're now engaged, says congradulations & says it's really interesting to see them play because they're
playing lots of acoustic Melissa Etheridge & Janis Joplin type stuff. He says to see Ian playing those songs was cool, says to see him play "Somebody Get Me Some
Water" or something & says you'd probably never have seen him 10 years ago. He says it's like seeing Scott play "Youth Gone Wild" from "Supergroup" VH1 finale:
http://tinyurl.com/pa87v was as cool as seeing Ted Nugent play only & says that's good stuff. He says to make a long story not quite as long, says Scott said if he
hadn't played "Imitation Of Life" in 15 or 20 years, says they had to sit down & go thru it, says they didn't rehearse & says Scott said "As long as he, Charlie [Benante] & Frankie Bello were locked into the groove, the rest was easy". He says they'd know the solo, stick it together & you have an album in it's entirety & says if you see
Anthrax coming into your town, check them out because you'll see the rock show "Among The Living". He says "Among The Living" is based on, interupts & asks if
anyone knows what Stephen King story it's based on & says it's based on "The Stand": http://tinyurl.com/rsvkr . He says that's a great story & says if you're a big
Stephen King fan as he is & haven't read it, he suggest that you run & don't walk to pick up this novel: http://tinyurl.com/mcgns & says it's a great classic. He says it's
about 1000 pages long, says don't let that scare & fool you because it flows so well & says he'll be reading that again because he hasn't read it in a while. He says he
used to read books all the time, now he's too busy doing radio shows & performing plays. He then plugs his play at the Toronto Center For The Arts, says it's in Toronto,
Ontario, Canada from 7/20-7/22: http://www.birdent.com . He says he's allowed to "shill" a little bit, says he don't do that alot & plugs his sites http://www.chrisjericho.com , http://www.myspace.com/therockofjericho & his email messagesforchris@gmail.com . He says that's where you can send your comments, questions & requests, says he'll be playing request later on the show. He again plugs his play being a comedy, says his character's name is Jack Tisdale who's a middle aged varnish salesman who takes his wife to a play on their 25th wedding anniversary. He says she's into it, he could care less & then wacky antics ensue at the Toronto Center For The Arts. He says that's his advertising portion of his show, again asks for you to see "Opening Night" [name of the play], "Among The Living" in it's entirety & says maybe you'll see Anthrax play with Rob Zombie. He describes as to what's cool of being a headliner, is that the headliner can choose whom ever they want to open the show. He says even though Anthrax isn't as current quote/unquote as lots of acts are, be on the Zombie tour, says Zombie took
Anthrax out due to respect, for the fact that he loves the band & has the power to do what he wants. He thinks you'll see Annihilator tour with Trivium this year, maybe with Children Of Bodom because those 2 bands are huge for Annihilator fans. He says as a result, they can take who they want on tour with them even if the people in
charge like Annihilator or Anthrax, then mentions Lamb Of God or "My Chemical Romance" & says "My Chemical Romance" & Trivium aren't the best to bill. He says his point's that you can do these sort of things when you're in charge, headlining, releasing records like "Educated Horses" with hit singles like this 1. He says he's keeping the ball rolling on a Sunday, he's Jericho & this is Zombie on XM 41: http://tinyurl.com/6hmt6 .

3.Plays Rob Zombie's "Foxy Foxy, Kings X's "Send A Message" & Scorpions' "Crazy World".

4.Y2J says "Crazy World" is from an underated record by 1 of the most underated rock & roll bands in metal history & says that's the title track from Scorpions. He says he don't know why Scorpions aren't given more props or more "priz-zops" as his peeps on the streets would say. He says he talked about this recently with a friend of his & don't understand as to whenever you list the great guitarists of the 80's, you always hear Van Halen, George Lynch, Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhoads, but you
never hear Matthias Jabs. He says he wants to know why Jabs don't get more props as an unbelievable guitarist, says everyone knows Scorpions' a great band but do
you ever really hear lots of Scorpions. He then mentions "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "Winds Of Change" & asks what else do you hear, asks who busts loose with a
shwank "Blackout" on a classic rock radio. He also mentions "Coming Home", "Bad Boys Running Wild", "Can't Live Without You", says they move forward to "Like A
Crazy World", says everyone knows "Winds Of Change" & mentions "Tease Me, Please Me", "Don't Believe Her" which's the title track & says that's great stuff. He says we need more scorpions, says they've been around for 40 years, they rock, roll & rule. He says that should be their next greatest hits album called "Scorpions:They Rock, They Roll, They Rule" & have a photo of a guy with a big thick piece of chewing gum on some chick's puss. He says they already did the gum on the t** on "Lovedrive", says just go all the way, stick it on the puss, says they're almost 60 & have nothing to lose. He says he won't complain about it, asks if you'll
be the 1 to tell Rudolf Schenker that it's not right & says "Rudolf, that's not right, neither is your moustache" which's why he shaved it. He says Rudolf's rocking with the
moustache with "The Scorps" in '87 & says there's never been a cool guy in a heavy rock band with a moustache. He says they don't fit, says Savatage has 2 moustache guys & Scorpions have 1 & says Kings X has no moustache guys. He says "Send A Message" is from the underated "Gretchen Goes To Nebraska" & says
he saw Zombie at Zakk's induction into the Rock Walk Hollywood Hall Of Fame at the Guitar Center in January in LA: http://tinyurl.com/hnbxz . He says Zakk, says that was a segway alert, says "Chris Jericho:King Of Segways" is the name of his show & says he heard the 1st track from "Shot To Hell" which's the new Black Label
record which's coming out in September. He says the song's called "Concrete Jungle", says he can't play it because he don't have it & it's not available for mass consuption & says it was sent to him via the internet black market. He says it's classic Black Label, says it's awesome & says he don't understand what Zakk's on or
what's he doing to be so prolific with his records. He says Zakk's non-stop with constant great records, says he thinks it all started when Black Label's 1st record "Sonic Brew" which's not bad, says "Stronger Than Death" is a little better & when he got into "1919", there was some genius & so-so on that. He says when "Blessed
Hellride" came out, that was it & then there was "Hangover Music", "Mafia", says he assume's "Shot To Hell" will be the same & says he heard the new Ozzy CD's like
AC/DC on steroids. He says it's amazing on how Zakk keeps throwing them out, says "here's another good record" 3 times & says "Shot To Hell" is Zakk's new deal with Road Runner Records. He says that's a huge record label, mentions that Nickelback, Slipknot, Megadeth & now Black Label is. He says Road Runner's becoming
the heavy metal label dujour, says it's funny because Road Runner used to be the home of King Diamond & Annihilator in the early '90's & suddenly they became huge & says Slipknot was their 1st big band that really snapped them into mainstream. He says Black Label's now with Road Runner & will also be snapped into mainstream
when "Shot To Hell" is released. He says it's always great to hear some new Zakk & Dimebag, says that's another segway & says on the "Rebel Meets Rebel" record
that he played a couple of weeks ago, it had "Dime", Vinnie [Paul], Rex Brown & on vocals is David Allan Coe who's the original country rock rebel:
http://www.officialdavidallancoe.com . He says Coe's a nutcase, says the record really works, it's very cool & it's a great combination of metal & country & says it's great to hear Dimebag playing again in a little different music style. He says it's great to hear Zakk playing in a different music style also, says both are known with their super heavy stuff but "Rebel Meets Rebel" has fiddles on it. He says Zakk's very good with acoustic stuff & wants to play acoustic Zakk & country Dimebag.

5.Plays Black Label Society's "House Of Doom" & Rebel Meets Rebel's "Rebel Meets Rebel".

6.Y2J says Rebel Meets Rebel can possibly be his new favorite band & says Jack Black & Tenacious D's Kyle Gass. He says you 1st hear of these guys & it's like it's
a fun Spinal Tap thing, but Jack Black commits to much of everything that he does. He says it's so infectious, says he saw "Nacho Libre": http://www.nacholibre.com a
couple of weeks ago, says it wasn't a bad movie & says Jack made it so much better. He says it's like "School Of Rock", it's not a bad movie & says if they had anyone else casted in the lead other than Jack, it would've been OK. He says Jack comes in, pushes it over the top & makes it so fun & awesome, that it's really cool to see what he does with the roles & parts that he plays & says that's what goes on with Tenacious D. He says he saw this video when he was in Canada & did Much Music's "Video On Trial" show: http://tinyurl.com/pxyay which's like "Behind The Music", then corrects himself & says it's like a "Best Week Ever": http://tinyurl.com/5hk5t , "I Love The 70's": http://tinyurl.com/s85sw & "I Love The 80's": http://tinyurl.com/n4g7j type thing where you see a video & comment on it. He says you comment on the ridiculous or coolness of it, says the "Tribute" video played, says he thought that was genius because it's like [then ridiculously sings]: THIS IS THE BEST SONG IN THE WORLD, THIS IS NOT THE BEST SONG OF THE WORLD" & says it gets you into it. He says you can tell Jack's a rock & roll fan, says you can see he believes in what he's doing & says that's all he asks. He asks you to believe in what you do, says he believes in what he does, says his show might be the worst of all time & says you might rather listen to Tom Petty: http://tinyurl.com/e5y7a , Snoop Dogg: http://tinyurl.com/lx5hq & says if that's the case go. He says f*** off, go listen to them & says if you wanna hear who believes in what they're talking about, in the music that he's playing, who believes in the people that created it, says you're in the right place & sings 1 line of Elvis Presley's "Trouble". He says he's loosing it in the last couple of weeks, says he's hyper & excited to be doing his show for you & play stuff like Tenacious D. He says Tenacious D's making a movie called "The Pick Of The Gods" & says it's "The Pick Of Destiny": http://www.tenaciousdmovie.com . He says "The Pick Of Destiny" is an actual guitar pick & in the movie, they're trying to find this pick by traveling thruout the world, in the wilderness to find it & they play songs along the way. He says if you saw "Nacho Libre", you'd see where they're having Jack sing songs like "Nacho Libre", says Jack's such an idiot & it's so cool. He then says to monitor mark it down & write it in the books, so it shall be written, so it shall be done & says Jack's his favorite actor now. He says Tenacious D could possibly be his favorite band, says that was his request for the week with Chris Jericho playing himself a request & asks if he's got other request for this week. He says yes, "abscolutely", says people actually emailed him & made request that'll make their dreams come true. He says this is better than the day your child's born, better than hooking up with a hot chick or guy & says this is your request being played on ROJ & sings "We've got request, we've got request, these are your re-que-e-est". He says for a fan named Jenny Lease from either in Holland, Europe, Denmark or somewhere like that & says she's a huge Rock Of Jericho fan & wants to hear Skid Row & Sebastian Bach of "Damnocracy, savage animal dude, it rolls off the tongue". He then says a little Black Sabbath & Back Street Kids for 2 fans named Jay & Michael who maybe the original Back Street Kids or Back Street Boys & says Jay & Michael are coming to a boy band near you. He says these are a couple of request on his show, says he's doing it for the kids, Rock Of Jericholics & says here's the "Skids & Sabbath" by request for you.

7.Plays System Of A Down's "Revenge" & Tenacious D's "Tribute".

8.Y2J says it's the all request hour on his show, says it's more like the all request 10 minutes & says Jenny, Jay & Michael had their dreams come true. He says it's
like the "Publishers Sweepstakes Clearing House", then says Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes: www.pch.com & says they won. He says Dick Clark & Ed
McMahon came to their doors, knocked [Y2J makes knocking noise in the background] & their request were played. He says he realized he was knocking on his next
door neighbor's wall & someone may be saying "who the hell's knocking on the window or door here". He asks if you wanna talk about snakes, puppies, says he'll talk
about Joe Holmes & says "WHO THE F*** IS JOE HOLMES CHRIS?" & says that's what all in America & Canada are saying. He says Joe Holmes' the guy who played
guitar for Ozzy in the 5 years that Zakk & Ozzy weren't together, says Zakk's been playing with "The Ozz" since '88 & in about '95 he left to form Black Label Society &
Pride & Glory, quit Ozzy's band & from '95 to '99 Joe Holmes was Ozzy's guitarist & says that's a footnote in history. He says Joe was a guitar student of Randy Rhoads, says he was a perfect fit for Ozzy & was also the guitarist for Lizzy Borden before that for a short time. He asks if you've ever seen "Decline Of The Western
Civilization": http://www.declinemovies.com , you'll see Joe in Lizzy Borden & playing "Born To Be Wild" & then ended up with Ozzy. He says when Joe was in Ozzy, he was super skinny, had a reverse mullet with long hair on the front & short hair on the back & says Joe had the only reversed mullet that he's seen ever in rock & roll.
He says Joe's a total shredder, but almost like a parrot because in the way that he played everyone's part perfect, but never played his own stuff because he never had his own material. He says Joe was in Ozzy for 4 years, never recorded an album with Ozzy, says he don't believe Joe ever appeared on a live record with Ozzy & only
played on 1 song with Ozzy in 4 years. He says that's sad because finally when Ozzy did the record "Down To Earth", 3 of Joe's songs were used on the record but Zakk played guitar on them. He says Joe finally got his day in the sun, got Ozzy to record his songs but wasn't even around to play on them & Y2J says that's ironic. He then says "Oh what metal guru you're asking me, what song did Joe Holmes" play on it, says to think about it, asks it's something from "Ozzmosis" & says no because Zakk played on that. He asks if it's from "Down To Earth", says no because Zakk played on that too even though they're Joe's songs & says the answer's that in '96 "Beavis & Butt-Head" had a movie called "Beavis & Butt-Head Do America". He says on the movie's soundtrack was the Ozzy song "Walk On Water", says you
may or may not have heard it & it's a forgetable track, says it's was played on the radio & hasn't heard it since & says that my young friends had Joe Holmes. He says
this is a tribute to Joe, asks as to where he is now, asks if he's playing with Vinnie Vincent somewhere & asks if he wants to join "The Jerichos". He says we'll go back to a time where Joe was in Ozzy, Lizzy Borden, says when the world was Joe Holmes' & says let's go back on the Joe Holmes time machine. He says to hit 88.8
jigawatts & kick it, says do you remember Beavis & Butt-Head & hear's the song on ROJ.

9.Plays Ozzy Osborne's "Walk On Water" & Lizzy Borden's "Eyes Of A Stranger".

10.Y2J says Lizzy Borden's version of "Eyes Of A Stranger" is not to be confused with Queensryche or Canada's The Payolas version, says "Eyes Of A Stranger" is from the "Visual Lies" record. He says visualize twice & says it was spelled "Visual Lies", but it's pronounced visualize & says that was probably Lizzy's technological
statement & says he didn't know what the hell's Lizzy talking about. He says the record had a classic cover with Lizzy in total silver face paint & hairspray & busting out of a TV screen. He says it also had on the back of the cover, it said if you look at the "I" in Lizzy Borden, says there was an "I" in the middle of the logo & says if you
look at it for a minute, you then look at the wall & you'll see the logo on the wall, says it was a "Visual Lie" & says it was an optical trick. He says Lizzy was like Kiss,
says when Kiss gave you the love gun in their record, says Lizzy gave you a "Visual Lie" which was an optical "I" illusion. He says that's cool, says Kiss had their
paraphernalia in their record, Lizzy had his & says if you saw the "Rock Honors" show: http://tinyurl.com/hsvaf & says "SEGWAY ALERT, AHH, AHH, AHH". He says
you saw Kiss perform, says it was half of Kiss, fake Kiss, says Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley was on 1 side & Eric Singer & Tommy Thayer on the other. He says
there was another supergroup playing "Gods Of Thunder" that had Scott Ian, Rob Zombie, Slash, Gilby Clarke, Tommy Lee & Ace Frehley. He says Ace appeared on
"Rock Honors" in a tribute band of the band that he was in [Kiss] & says Ace was in a tribute band to his own band & asks if he's Paul Dianno. He says it was funny to
see Ace rocking the little cool goatee, kicking it with Slash, says Ace & Slash did a harmony solo on "God Of Thunder" & says Zombie was singing it. He says it was so weird, asks as to how can Ace be in a tribute band to his own band, says that's kind of a strange situation that made you think that they should've just had Ace on
stage with Kiss & says Kiss wouldn't have had that. He says he's got some Ace on his show, says it don't have to be a tribute, says Ace can record a version of a song
as a tribute to himself & says that's how much sense the whole tribute to his own band makes. He says he don't understand that either, says he'll shut up & play probably his favorite Ace song, but it's not a solo Ace track but a track when he was in Kiss. He says it's not played by Tommy Thayer, Bruce Kulick but Ace playing an
Ace song & says he's Chris Frehley & it's the "Rock Of Frehley" on XM.

11.Plays Kiss' "Rocket Ride" & Brighton Rock's "Love Machine".

12.Y2J says "Love Machine" is Brighton Rock's title track of their 3rd record, says they're from Canada & the band has Gerry McGhee who was the singer of Brighton
Rock, says Gerry now runs his own distribution company with metal records & thinks porn's involved also. He says he's telling you way too much trivia, says there's
probably 7 Brighton Rock fans listening & now you know what happend to the band's lead singer. He says that's what he brings & does, then asks if you know who the
drummer of the band was on "Rocket Ride", says if you think it's Peter Criss & it's not & says it's Anton Fig. He says Fig's the guy that you see playing with David
Lettermen: http://tinyurl.com/fer58 , says he's disspelling myths, rumors, says he's the myth killer & says that's what he does. He says he also play some great rock &
roll, says that's what Def Leppard's done on their "Yeah!" album, says that's a dumb album title & yells "YEAH". He says here's the new Def Leppard record "YEAH" & says what "YEAH" is, is a record of cover tunes. He says it's like a rock dujour gimmick, says Ozzy's done it on his "Under Cover" record & other bands have done it. He says Def Leppard's thrown their hat in the ring, says it's cool because this is almostly glam rock from the 70's. He says this is English glam rock & mentions Sweet,
Slade & other bands like that, then says they don't do any Slade & mentions Gary Glitter, David Essex, The Faces, T. Rex, etc. He says this is kinda a lost art nowadays with the inside liner notes & the booklet on where you get a CD, you pull the booklet out, see all the photos & stuff. He says it's kinda a lost art because
nowadays you don't get that much of that packaging, says we need it more than ever now because people can just download stuff off the internet & says don't download
or he'll come to your house & kick your ass. He says people download stuff on the internet & don't get the album cover or care about the photos inside, but says what
Def Leppard's done for "YEAH" is all of the photos of the band are based around 70's album covers. He says it's got the crease of the record on the outside where if it was in a tight space where it would kind of had that slight indentation & says it was really well done & very creative. He says Joe Elliot & Phil Collins give all their thoughts on the songs that they did, says Rick Savage & Vivian Campbell do 1 page of liner notes & says Rick Allen didn't write a thing. He says that sucks because
Savage & Vivian get to write a couple of paragraphs, Joe & Phil comment on every songs & Allen gets nothing. He says there's a real easy joke there on how all the other guys wrote with their right hand & Allen couldn't do that, says he [Y2J] won't do that, says 1 arm jokes for Def Leppard & says Sebastian Bach said on "Supergroup":"What has 9 arms & rocks, Def Leppard". He says he heard that joke in '89 & says "come on Baz". He asks as to what has 3 original members & rocks &
says it's Skid Row, laughs & says it wasn't bad. He says the thing about this next song's that they did The Faces' "Stay With Me" which is a great track, but switched
roles & says Collins sang the song, Elliot played guitar & Elliot was pissed because Collins laid it down in 1 track & Elliot had problems with the song. He says for the
1st time ever that he know of that recorded, he'll play some Def Leppard with Collin on vocals, says it's not Phil Collins & it's not like "Sussudio" done with rock guitars.
He says it's Def Leppard with Phil Collin on vocals & doing Face's "Stay With Me", says to check it out & maybe Elliot may loose his job & clean toilets or join "The
Jerichos" & we can rock it here on XM 41 Da Boneyard.

13.Plays Def Leppard's "Stay With Me", Loudness' "Let It Go" & Place Vendome's "Right Here".

14.Y2J says Michael Kiske's in Place Vendome on the "Place Vendome" record, says this is like the United Nations Of Rock, says that's what his show is because in that last set, it had a German, Japanese & English vocalist & says the English vocalist is really a guitarist. He says his show might be the only place in the world where
you'd hear a triple shot of Def Leppard, Loudness & Place Vendome & says "take that Clear Channel, you sons of bitches". He says that's it with another successful show on the Da Boneyard, says he's over, finshed, gone, done & out, says he's happy to bring this amalgamation of rock & roll to you & says this cornucopia & buffet "if you will". He says he'll end it off with some closure, says this weeks is from the "Angel Of Retribution" record & it's Priest's comeback record. He says their 1st was with Rob Halford in 15 years with classic songs like "Hellrider", "Angel", "Revolution", "Deal With The Devil" & says if you know anything about him, he's obsessed with
creatures, the supernatural, the lochness monster. He says Priest didn't just do a song about the lochness monster, but did a 14 f*****g minute song about it. He says
the song's as long as the lochness monster's c***, says on that note he's finished & this is Priest with "Lochness" right here on his show on a Sunday night.

15.Ends the show with Judas Priest's "Lochness".
