Subject: HP Omnibook 900 setup

I bought an Omnibook 900 without a hard drive. Upon installing a hard drive (which doesn't have the HP Diagnostics partition) several problems are presented...first, only Windows 98 will load..XP, ME 2000 are blocked with errors (When XP is put on 98 the error "no NTLD found" comes up)and ME comes up garbled. Also, the MagicGraphic video driver wont work..when installed over the VGA 16 color driver, the machine freezes..also the sound driver wont work...What can I do?
